I actually bought Hyrule Warriors today and just hopped on /v/ hoping to find a thread about it.
I was on the fence about buying it because while I do like Zelda games, I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game and the combat and combo system looked very simple.
I'm very pleased with what I've played so far, the micromanagement of all the different sections of the map and keeping on top of all the trouble spots is definitely working well with the 100's of tiny mooks that die in one hit. I feel like the focus isn't on you just beating up the enemy but running around the map and helping all the other people in your army deal with the enemies assaulting them, is that the basic gist of Dynasty Warriors games?
Also, would you say the DLC packs are worth it? I've been playing some of the Adventure Map and it looks like a shit-tonne of levels on top of the normal story mode. Do all the added Adventure Maps offer as much content? How much additional playtime would you say the DLC packs offer because it seems like this game could get to Monster Hunter levels of timesink with those DLC packs.
The only thing I'm not liking is the drop in framerate and enemy draw distance when playing co-op but it's not a big enough problem to stop me playing in co-op.

I grabbed all the DLC a few weeks ago because I was gifted a ton of nintendo fun bucks and was running out of shit to buy. Some of it is worth the price, especially if you're particularly interested in any of the DLC characters. They all play pretty well, and the adventure mode maps you get are nice if you liked the gist of the default adventure mode map.
Only thing I haven't tried yet is the boss DLC pack. But if you liked grinding out adventure mode and forging new weapons the DLC is more of that with new adventure gimmicks.

I've got to say, Hyrule Warriors is incredibly fun and refreshing to play after how much of a slog Tri-Force Heroes was. Solo is shit, online is shit; the only way to have a good time is being lucky enough to have two other people nearby who want to play through the entire game with you.
