Yep, she's dead unfortunately. Heck, you could say even Sega regrets doing it with how many appearances and how much merchandise she's still put in after all these years.
But I'm mainly talking about how they're going to use a similar likeness for the enemy in that upcoming spin-off game. You'd think they'd put her as the heroine/main character now that they have a chance to do something with her, but nope. Still the enemy and probably going to die tragically.

She was unwaveringly loyal to a man who didn't care for her, everything she felt and did was one-sided but she did it regardless.
She knew exactly what he was doing when he threw her away but didn't complain, she only tried to do her best regardless.
A woman living a tragic life then dying an unmourned death for a man who doesn't care for her is a gripping as fuck story and one of the best in the entire game.
Wanting her to live, or to save her is fucking retarded. It'd almost ruin everything,

But any writer that regrets creating a compelling, interesting, character with a complete story arc and a fantastic death because they can't slap her giant tits onto more sequels is a fucking disgrace.
Selvaria's death was literally one of the keystone moments of the entire game. If they retcon that or undo it, it'd be like (a smaller scale of) letting Aeris live. Fucking disgraceful.

Not quite appropriate in this, but Amagi Brilliant Park author always resented/disliked what he did to the Princess when he statrted the books. With the being blind and ended up actually losing her memories, that's why I enjoyed having the chance in the anime to go about changing those things and not making things so dark for her and so on.
But yes, there's probably a fair bit of authors that always regret killing a character off.

All I'm saying is that if they decided to put in a character in this new spinoff that is basically her, and still ended up being the antagonists throughout, Sega is quite a ways out of their minds.
I mean, she could even be the villain halfway through the game until she could possibly join the main character and his party. Then again, that's pretty unlikely. Still feels like a waste of using a similar design just to make her mirror her inspiration.
