I was going to update from a windows XP toaster but PC gaming just seems shitty with windows 10 and shady nvidia crap. Not like console gaming is a good alternative with paid online and whatnot.

I actually don't know if it is but I really like Shadowplay so I have to assume it's better. Like I can have it record desktop (if I want), yet hide the indicator if I'm not recording at the moment.

oh yeah, all these games available right now. like gigantic Closed Beta, Fable Legends Closed Beta and AotS Early Access. Or games before pascal gets released like Deus Ex Mankind Divided and Killer Instinct Season 3.
Only nVidia cards with "real" DX12 support are 9xx cards and they work fine without AsyncCompute and only AotS uses it heavily, turn it off on nVidia cards and leave it on on Radeon cards and 980 gets results similar to 290X OC\390X stock.
