FF2 is just a boring version of 4 in every way. It's more simplistic, the characters are similar but less interesting. The music is mediocre, and the gameplay system is stupid, though not as bad as is memed. FF4 is your standard FF so its an improvement

To be fair, Double Meteor was a thing, albeit only under fixed circumstances. Really, characters having fixed but unique skillsets allowed for a better character focus, it would've only hurt the story if anyone other than Rydia could become a summoner at the drop of a hat, or if Cecil could go back to being a Dark Knight for no reason.
And I'm not the one arguing it's the best ever, I'm arguing that it's not the worst. And considering there are games in the series that are just as simplistic with worse story, it definitely doesn't qualify as the worst.

X-2 is a lot more upbeat and catchy and with some jazz tunes. IV's OST is beautiful but X-2's is somewhat betteralthough probably less memorable if you didn't enjoy

Well that's amazing. Every time you changed jobs your stats would suffer until you fought a certain amount of battles, then they'd go back to normal. I think the duration of the nerf actually increased the more you changed into a job (though it only increased a couple times, it'd stop increasing after a certain point).

XIII itself is very lacking on contentI didn't play XIII-2 or Lightning Returns and I'm not considering them.
It almost don't have a world, the characters are unlikable as fuck, most of the time they don't fucking know what to do because the Pulse Fal'Cie can't tell them their objective.
At least when I'm playing FF4, 6 or 7 I know what the party wants to do and I'm curious of how it is done, the places they visit, the things they go through and etc, but 13 has nothing of that.
You can't tell me to not be disappointed for a game that is shallow as fuck after they manage to make a world to explore since FF1. And the worst thing is that I don't even think that 13 would also work as it's own thing since it is convoluted as fuck.

And what's this about a world to explore? As a corridor FFX was exactly the same, and all the other games usually had only one place to go for 90% of the game. The world opens up towards the end in every FF game, and that's exactly what happened.
