It's literally the most irrelevant game in the series canonically, so you'll be fine knowing fuck all about MGS lore going in. It's fun, I'd say it's worth playing, especially if you like other games like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry.

Dying Light is a pretty fun co-op game mate, also Borderlands games, Trine games, Orcs Must Die 2 and Castle Crashers are all games I've enjoyed with friends.

BFG is just worse, the textures and lighting are fucked in it as well as some other changes.
As for why I said buying doom1/2 is retarded, because it's a 20 year old game you nimrod, you're not supporting anybody and they don't even run natively in steam iirc, you need to still use 3rd party programs

Nice port, but they really should ask for less for it. System Shock 2 costs half as much.
It also depends on your preferences. The game is ancient. SS2 improves on it a lot and is much more playable from a modern standpoint.
