Did the Wii kill unconventional controller design?

It's alright, when you lose your balance, I'll watch as you tear ligaments or worse.
>>
>>321488326
You know that's actually an interesting idea. Give it a few more console generations and we'll see how things develop.
Your thread will go nowhere, OP, but thanks for the cool idea.

The system should've just been sold standalone with a built-in version of wiiu sports.

The nunchuck setup sucked. Holding it sideways sucked. There was nothing good about it, aside from playing casual arcade-style games.
>>
In the short term it exuberated it.
In the long term, maybe? Not sure yet.
>>
>>321488326
that seems like a really silly and dangerous way to squat

can't wait to see these types blow out their spines and knees at my gym come new year's
>>
>>321488326
your question is dumb and your premise is retarded. nintendo are doing literally all the controller R&D pioneering.
>>
>>321488326
that nigga gone die
>>
>>321489436

And notice how pretty much nobody actually likes the controller designs.

They're making a killing selling Gamecube controller adapters because nobody wants waggle dildoes or tablets as the main control point.
>>
Why even attempt that?

>>

No, but the Wii U did
>>
I wasn't really a fan of the wiimote/nunchuks because I hated motion controls for being imprecise and having two separate units felt weird. On the other hand, I actually like the Wii-U controller quite a lot. It's comfortable to hold and the screen can provide interesting functionality or be ignored without getting in the way. Being able to play without a TV is handy sometimes as well.

>no one recognizes OP's pic
It's reenacting a /fit/ comic about a /fit/izen entering a gym after new year

That there is a crossfitter, son. You can tell one apart from regular people at the gym when they make it a big deal that you know they engage in activities that value multitasking at the cost of safety for themselves and those around them.
>>
>>321490404

We know, but it's still fucking stupid.

I'm not even going near the gym for a week after new year's, fucking resfags will ruin it.
>>
>>321489856
presumably getting good at it would strengthen a lot of the little muscles that control your balance

It got the gimmick factor right. There was shit like console dance mats and ps eye toy but with the waggle controllers everything came up Nintendo. Then we got kinect, and move + eye which all bombed (twice).
>>
>>321490678
Go run on hills and at the beach if you're near one. Squatting heavy weight on a fucking rubber ball is beyond dumb
>>
>>321491248
its okay brah, hes got a spotter
>>
No it was the other way around. Fuck you Nintendo.
>>
>>321491102
This is why I go early mornings at my gym, nothing like 4am and having the place to yourself until 6. I'm used to going alone, I've gone to the gym with other people and unfortunately I only know those who come and will just text or be on Facebook the entire time, then bitch when someone asks for the machine repeatedly. Even I tell them to fuck off and don't ask me to be their workout partner again.

I remember this one girl who wanted me to help her for her NYPD fitness exam earlier this year, told her to take it seriously since I knew how she was. 30 minutes later, she's only done one set each of 5 exercises I told her and never went to the gym again. No surprise, she fails because shes more Netflix and dominoes.
>>
>>321491446
Who's spotting the spotter though?

What are you doing here /fit/? Should you be busy planning your NYR?
>>
>>321488326
Everyone killed them.

The Wii was a massive success, but once all the normies played Wii Sports and Wii Play, they dropped the console once the novelty wore out; Nintendo never managed to do another game to pull over the casuals attention again, maybe with the exception of Wii Fit. But after that, nobody knew what to do with the Wiimote, it killed third party support, and it ended up being detrimental to games which could have been fine with just a standard controller.

Then Microsoft and Sony wanted to ride off the motion controller's sucess and made their own gimmicky periferials with only one or two games that supported them.

the spottest

>>321491102
Are there any more of these comics?
>>
Is Rand Paul spotting that guy?
>>
The Wii was the beginning of the death of conventional AAA game development, I think. Because companies came to realize that they could develop much cheaper games with much higher profit margins on non-mobile consoles. And not most devs are looking for a way to replicate similar successes without being labeled as exploitative fuckheads.

>see hot girl at gym on Christmas eve
>continue lifting weights till I'm out of breath
>go home, shower
>think why was a hot girl alone at the gym on Christmas eve
Boy am I stupid.
>>
>>321495948
Don't beat yourself over it.

All it would take for her to get annoyed and shut you down was saying just one wrong thing.
Hot girls don't go alone to the gym on Christmas eve to flirt with guys.

No, the WiiU did
>>

New year's resolutioners are pretty amusing. But really annoying because a lot of them do curls at a squat rack. Which at my campus gym is like ten feet away from the free weights and dumbbells.
>>
>>321491102
>That chick with all those shakeweights
Why is this hotter than regular porn?
>>
>>321497935
It really bothers me when people decide to do bicep work out at the rack when there's probably dozens of better ways to do it.

One time I say a guy doing bench press on the rack.
