Should I get a nvidia card or an amd card. Nvidio seems to be less powerful but better supported, AMD seems to be more powerful but less optimized. How Am I supposed to make such a hard decision. Never build a game computer before,

I'd take optimized over sheer power. Think about it, what can you do with all those gains if you can't properly use them in a game? But what if you get a less stronger card that can see 95% of its vram used properly?

Get both
nVidia generally has better support, so games tend to run better on their stuff
AMD has stronger tech, but rarely gets preference from coders, so their tech is useless (not to mention their passion for putting 8gb on cards with buses that can't utilize more than 4gb).
Should I get GTX 960 or r9 390?
How well would the 960 perform if I overclock it?
If I'm planning on modding the fuck out of games like skyrim and the mix you think getting an AMD might be better? more vram?
>>321465978
the r9 390 is much more powerful
the gtx 970 competes with the 390 though

yes. mods use a lot of vram. 8 gb will be much better than 4 (or 3.5 depending on the model)
