The best games are either arcade ports that MAME can run perfectly now, or original titles that will cost you an arm and a leg to find.
Just get a Dreamcast and burn all the games you want onto CDs.
The Saturn is getting expensive as fuck to collect for these days. You could always turn to imports, but those are also on the rise and have the whole language barrier to deal with as well.

That was hard to find even when Saturn was popular.
I want to say it had a lot of great games but I can't remember so well. I unironically loved my saturn. I had a ton of games for it. Loved VF2, Virtua Cop 2, Dayton USA... Shining Hearts... Nights, Fighters Megamix, Clockwork Knight 2...
Good stuff... Good times. I kinda want to get it again just to say I have it.

Saturn is only worth it if you can deal with playing Japanese games.
For me, it was very much worth it. Weebed out with it and never looked back.
If you have a spare Action Replay cart you can download PseudoSaturn onto it and you can play burned games.
The Saturn is a great system with a lot of gems but it is expensive and the prices are only getting higher.

This is true. Even Shining Force 3 can be played in its entirety in English with a patch, though the sound was a little weird last time I tried.

Those batteries are easily replaceable. There is a little door on the back of the console you can remove and replace it with a CR2032 which are a couple bucks a piece.

Why would a console with a CD drive need a CD attachment? The CD plugs into the Mega Drive.
