With a little grinding it's not that difficult, and you'll end up doing a little for the crafting system anyway. It's even easier with the Plutia/Peashy DLC. The optional content is what's tricky.

depends on how much you grind and explore side-dungeons. in my first playthrough i completed every optional area i could before advancing the story. after that all the story-related fights were trivial.
