I had a lot of fun with it for the time I played it. I got to the rich part of town then decided to play other games for a while.

Quarantine zones weren't just part of the story and made more interesting as a result, left to be repeatable garbage shit
Difficulty curve is total ass on Hard mode.
I loved it. I played for 10 hours straight one night. I thought that the slums were the only map so I stopped playing. Should have stuck to the main missions instead of doing side shit I guess. Might pick it up again.

Story and characters are horribly shit and you get too powerful after 60% of the game.

I ended up having a lot more fun than I initially thought I would. Playing it Coop is fun as fuck, the parkour, combat, and perk system is all pretty well done. Graphics were good, especially the lighting. The story was garbage, but that doesn't really bother me. Nighttime was really well done, was actually frightening to go out at night, at least until you got strong enough to kill the super zombies.
Pleasant surprise, didn't expect much, ended up wasting 40 hours on it
Pretty fun for the price I paid... game does get really easy after a while. Say goodbye to difficulty if you find any of the legendary crafted weapons w/ the companion app its super easy to target materials.
Story predictable, and enraging at times, your character is a fucking retard.
Gameplay is great however and that's what matters. Night gets stupid easy compared to the first time you're railroaded into running at night.

The only thing I had issue with on hard mode was when you get caught by Raiz and tossed in the arena. You had to fight a juggernaut and you did hardly any damage to it and it could kill you in two hits.

This game is stresses the fuck out of me, I can only play it in morning or noon times if I don't want to panic. Even then when it's night and i'm going to bed I remember all those stressful moments, the atmposphere and the music

Only two propane tanks spawn in the arena and at best that''ll take him down to 30-40%. I was also on NG+. If you died the propane tanks wouldn't respawn if I recall, not unless you restarted. The machete that you get does less than 1% damage to him.

Great atmosphere, good co-op, way fucking better than Dead Island. Overall a very good game. The only bad part is the story is pretty crap towards the end, but it's still okay for what it is, and the premise/setting is at least superb.
Definitely looking forward to the expansion.

Never finished the story, because it's so retarded and cliche and the dialogue is terrible.
But the core game mechanics are pretty good. I think Dying Light nailed the atmosphere of the post apocalyptic world - it's very eerie.

Interestingly, I didn't really enjoy Dead Island, but liked Dying Light. While there are many mechanic similarities, Dying Light does the whole post apoc things much better, imo.
