How underage are you shitters? This is such a small deal it isn't worth the sticky the underage mods have made.

Provided those are real (which they probably aren't). Thats fucking credit, just virtual numbers. There is no money actually being moved. With a simple 5 min phone call to your bank, CC provider or whatever it will be easily reversed. So buying into thee hype train.

That's now how it works... that's not how any of this works.

It is. But I would love to hear your interpretation
>>321444261
Don't get me wrong, this is obviously extreme incompetence on Valve's part. But it isn't the horrifying end of the world disaster people are saying it is.

People making such a big deal out of this. As long as you have steam mobile authenticatior on your phone you're fine. Worst thing you'll get is a lot of password change requests.

That's essentially the exact opposite of what happened. PSN info included full unhashed passwords, phone numbers, addresses and in some cases payment info.

Here they're just showing you the wrong account info, so email, address, last 4 digits of a card number which is useless, and you can't spend anything on the account.
>>
>>321443347
You know that GoG is no different than Steam in terms of buying things over the internet, right?
>>
>>321448721
>PSN info included full unhashed passwords, phone numbers, addresses and in some cases payment info.
None of this is true.
All of the data was encrypted otherwise pretty much everyone would've had their account compromised. In the end, nothing really even happened.

>>
Ok, so, from the top, what the fuck is claimed to have happened and what the fuck should I possibly be worried about?
>>
>>321449802
It's a bit more involved with a debit card since you have to go through them with proofs and spending habits.

The real question is why would anyone think using debit online is safe.
I don't even use debit at small food joints.
>>
>>321450318
When you went to your account page something ballsed up on Valves end so their cache showed you some random persons account page instead. This contained addresses, emails, the last 4 digits of your card number, previous purchases, steam wallet amounts.

No one can spend your money even if you have saved payment info. It is literally not possible to buy things on steam right now. When you try to buy something it asks you to log in. When logging in was working it logged you into your account, now it's not working so you can't make any purchases at all, not even legitimate ones.
>>
>>321450318
Some people are able to log onto random people's accounts. No one has any CC numbers but you can use that account to buy games on steam and gift to yourself. Thing is you can easily get a CC charge back and problem is solved.
>>
>>321447802
The one that was definitely 100% authentic and in no way faked because you could tell from the pixels?

Let me see if I can dig it up.
>>
>>321450318
tl;dr: Some account's personal information was leaked. The only important information being email, full name, and billing information.

I don't see much reason to actually worry.
>>
>>321443347
Yes, I use gog. I use it well.
>>
>>321450672
>No one has any CC numbers but you can use that account to buy games on steam and gift to yourself
Not true. Buying things requires you to log in again, and when logging in was working (it isn't now) it logged you into the correct account.
>>
>>321442876
/v/ is full of losers with shallow lifes, of course they'll make a huge deal out of nothing because SOMETHING FINALLY happens. pathetic and sad, really. you guys should just kill yourself.

Complete bullshit.

the sticky is an attempt of containing the posts and avoiding the thousands of threads about the same thing every second you retard. lurk more
>>
>>321445428
Can you unstore the CVC or is it too late?
I barely have anything on the account though since I made it exclusively for e-purchases. But still.
>>
>>321450937
People don't have the full CC number. Just the first couple digits

Thanks for the quick responses guys.

I've got friends irl panicing and canceling their credit cards and shit over this, on christmas day, telling the truth isn't damage control, its stopping people wasting their time stressing out about nothing.

Also I fucking wish I worked at Valve

No, but I'm guessing the server might still be able to serve them the wrong cache.
>>
>>321451945
no one is logging into anyone accounts, the caching is fucked so you can see someones cached account profile that was created last. Don't go to your account info and you should be safe

>It is a bit more involved with a debit card

No, its not. Had 500USD stolen once when someone duplicated my card with a skimmer. Called my bank and told them, I was credited the money hours later, before they ever even looked into it.
