By the way, this is not a security breach. This is page caching gone rogue. Most likely not respecting Cache-Control headers.
VAAALLLVVEEE!!
valve can kill a game series faster than it can kill the steam servers

>something that allows me to view the emails and purchase history of other users is not a security breach
the valve-drone damage control is in full force
>>321434323
Security breach would mean someone or something broke through their security systems.
This is simply them fucking up.

Does their own incopetence count?
It's honestly even more embarrassing 2bh if they didn't get hacked. That means that people give them actual money, and they still can't keep their shit together.
Is it safe to play games?
>>321434323
They mean that this isn't an external hack - some private information if damn sure leaking to people who shouldn't see it though. You could easily run a script and start scraping the cache server for a lot of juicy bits.
I'd be surprised if there's nobody doing that right now, but there is no evidence that someone is.
>>321434962
I dunno. The line is a bit blurry - if valve just started mailing out disks with this information to whoever asked for them, it would be pretty bad.
This is not far removed from that.
>>321434049
really wish they explained what the fuck theyre talking about instead of just giving me a bunch of vague things i should worry about
DAMAGE CONTROL AT 100%
>>321434049
>And just as a reminder to some twitter users, SteamDB (Steam Database) is not affiliated with Valve in any way.
