I have $3.60 in my steam wallet. Just bought Star Wars: Republic Commando, Risk of Rain and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.

Sell me on a game to get with what little funds I have. Chances are I've contemplated anything under 5 bucks but I want some reasons to get it.

Magrunner: Darkpulse.
It is $2.49 right now.

Eversion.
Is also $2.49, though might be found free if you poke around online.
>>
Also bought Organ trail but refunded it since I already have a few "roguelikes"
>>
Get little more and grab Gothic 1 and 2. They're the two best games ever made.
>>
>>321414385
What would you compare them too? My experiences with older rpgs would just be stuff like the Witcher and morrowind

Nothing really. That's what makes them so good. They're not like TES.

Their main feature is fully open world that's really open from the start.

The barriers are monsters which are too strong for you to defeat. Since they don't scale, you'll get stronger as you play and will be able to defeat monsters previously too strong and explore areas previously inaccessible. With this comes a great feeling of accomplishment.

Secondly, the controls the games use also allow you to get better at them and sequence break a bit for further playthrough. With this also comes a great feeling of accomplishment.

Thirdly the games offers a lot of stuff to do in their hubs and you can optimize a lot. Doing it offers great feeling of accomplishment in further playthroughs.

You can join three main factions and several subfactions. You can train with various weapons or magic schools. This offers replayability.

Yeah, I wouldn't just say they're the best games ever if I didn't actually believe it.

Be sure to check out PcGamingWiki for tips and patches for Win 7 etc. Gothic 1 runs at limited to 25FPS if you don't get a patch, luckily there's one available.

Well, Hannibal was without doubt a great battlefield tactician and a charismatic leader (after all, his forces actually stayed with in Italia for who knows how long). But even though he could and did claim a decisive victory, he did fuck all with it. If we're thinking of generals by large, he's severely overrated (hell, I'd rank Scipio Africanus above him) and it's people like Alexander Suvorov, Subutai and Gustavus Adolphus that are the greatest. As far as naval commanders are concerned, it's definitely Yi Sun-sin.

>But even though he could and did claim a decisive victory, he did fuck all with it

>not slaughtering romans by the tens of thousands every time they fucking messed

I mean, sure, his side lost, but that's 'cause a war is bigger than any one person. Are you saying you can't be a great general unless your side wins? There are some handicaps that no conceivable level of skill is going to overcome.

Well, if you go into a war you know you can't win (or incorrectly believe you can win), you've already failed as a strategist.

And certainly, you can be a great general even though your side lost. Someone like Erwin Rommel is a great example of that. But we're (I suppose, I certainly am) talking about the greatest. Take someone like Gustavus Adolphus, his strategical and tactical innovations earned him the name of "The father of modern warfare", he made Sweden into a Great power and if you look at the odds Swedes faced against the Catholics, they weren't much different from Trebia or Cannae.

Or consider someone Yi Sun-sin. He didn't even have formal naval training but yet he overcome seemingly insurmountable odds against the Japanese.

>Challenging combat

>Blum left the State Department in 1967 and became a founder and editor of the Washington Free Press, the first "alternative" newspaper in the capital. In 1969, he wrote and published an exposé of the CIA in which were revealed the names and addresses of more than 200 CIA employees. He has worked as freelance journalist in the United States, Europe and South America. In 1972-73 Blum worked as a journalist in Chile where he reported on the Allende government's "socialist experiment". In the mid-1970s, he worked in London with ex-CIA officer Philip Agee and his associates "on their project of exposing CIA personnel and their misdeeds".[2] He supports himself with his writing and speaking engagements on college campuses.[1]

>In his books and online columns, Blum devotes substantial attention to CIA interventions and assassination plots. Noam Chomsky has called Blum's book on the CIA, "far and away the best book on the topic."[3] He has supported Ralph Nader's presidential campaigns.[4] He circulates a monthly newsletter by email called "The Anti-Empire Report". Blum has described his life's mission as: "If not ending, at least slowing down the American Empire. At least injuring the beast. It's causing so much suffering around the world."[1]

The guy has the background to appear to know what the fuck he's talking about at least.

Maybe I should read one of his books if Chomsky is riding his dick.

Even better than that, they would create roadblocks, make the roads narrower, and back up long lines of marching infantry and tanks, but not in the front. They'd ambush middle sections, destroy their equipment, then retreat.

The units behind them would be delayed by the wreckage and the guys in front would have to stop and go back.

It was a bit more than simply shooting the end of the line.
