How do I start enjoying Rhythm Games /v/?
I can't tap anything to the beat.
I would usually say practice but some people are just born with no sense of rhythm
Basic drum rudiments. Get a metronome online to a comfortable rhythm then tap L for Left R for Right
R-L-R-L-R-L-R-L
Then hitting at the same speeds do a double stroke so
R-R-L-L-R-R-L-L
Finally practice the paradiddle. It goes
R-L-R-R-L-R-L-L
You can train basic rhythm into anybody, I teach percussion for a living. Just tap it out, if you mess up just start again and keep at it. Youll develop the basic skills to play these games with time and effort
Finding a song that you like and setting a small goal such as a certain rank or trying to lower your miss rate is fun when you reach the goal. If a game has a bunch of songs I like like theatrhythm or a way to tap to beat to like iidx is also how I find fun

You want to practice each until its easy to do for at least 2 minutes at a time (sounds like more than it feels). By the time you figure out a consistent paradiddle you'll be able to transition seamlessly between these three rhythms. If you don't have basic tempo skills then you weren't practicing

I have no sense of rhythm and I still enjoy Rhythm games. If you like the song or know what it sounds like it's a lot easier to get into it. Also I'd try not to rely on visuals too much, because it gets you into bad habits for these games.
I can more or less play rhythm games, usually I can manage normal difficulty songs and the occasional hard difficulty ones. The harder modes can go die in a fire though
