Tell me about some games with some good
LASER WEAPONS
Preferably:
-Red
-One long straight line of technodeath (like the picture, not laser "bolts" like they use in the original X-COM and Xenonauts)
-"Pulse" beams rather than "sustained" beams ("Sustained" meaning something similar to the Gluon Gun from HL1
Pic related, the newer Fallout games, and the new XCOM all have what tickles my pickle. What other games have awesome laser weapons?

Lasers are one of the main weapon types and there are pulse lasers that do more damage in a shorter time frame at shorter range
They have a really satisfying sound effect too.
My favorite mech is a medium one one fit with 12 red small pulse lasers that can instarape mechs at short range
Longest range lasers are blue or light blue, medium are green or yellow depending on the mech type

FEAR has a railgun laser thing that liquefies the flesh and turns enemies into steaming red skeletons.
Even better, the expansion pack Perseus Mandate has the classic red laser type weapon you seek which is pretty powerful. FEAR has excellent gunplay and I highly recommend it.

Helldivers has pretty good laser weaponry. A continuous laser, a repeating laser carbine, and a heavy laser.

MWO is actually better without friends in the beginning. playing solo puts you in solo queue which has NO groups. Being grouped up means the chance of going up against 12 man premades.
The game isn't that grindy, and the fittings system is pretty badass being akin to EVE online.
Certianly worth a look

Warframe has several, but the Quanta is not only the only one that's ammo efficient, but also wrecks a lot of shit.
Flux Rifle and Glaxion have shit ammo efficiency, Spectra is alright for a sidearm, and Opticor that is just one big blast instead of a continuous stream, it hits REALLY hard but the metagame doesn't treat it well.
Freespace 2 also it's actually a good a game
I'm not sure what became of Star Conflict, but it has the continuous variant and the bullet spam variant, it's pretty fun on Frigates.

Elite dangerous beam weapons are pretty great as they don't run off of limited ammo, are great at taking down shields, do good hull damage, and perhaps most importantly nearly instantly hit their target.
