Cuckoo!
Hey so I'm gonna post one of those video games now, because it looks like almost no one else in this thread wants to
>>321352548
If Twilight Princess is your favorite game of all time, you really need to rethink your life.
>>321351782
Funny how NA doesn't have the shitty gold cover anymore. Now it looks just like the EU/JP versions.

m-merry christmas /v/..
>>321352764
Nah, I'm aware of its faults, moreso than most of its detractors, but I really enjoyed it for the things it gets right. I'm not gonna say it's the BEST game I've played, but it's a good contender for the one that has brought me the most joy on a personal level.
>>321353040
The whole game is a fault.
>>321351782
>>321352548
>my favorite game is a post-MM 3D Zelda game
Really, niggas?
>>321353972
TP is literally a better version of OoT.
And MM is shit. Having a few side-quests doesn't excuse the terrible dungeons.
>>321353752
I disagree with that but can understand how one can come to feel that way.
>>321353972
Hey man, the Oracles are post-MM and those are the best 2D Zeldas. After that, fair enough.
>>321351782
You beat me to it, OP.
>>321354103
>TP is literally a better version of OoT.
But that's wrong on all levels. It wasn't like Ocarina in any way except for targeting and a guy who uses a sword. Even when it tried to directly copy Ocarina, it failed.
>>321354307
TP is a lot like OoT but doesn't really have its universally sound design. TP's kinda lopsided - it's great at combat mechanics and dungeon design but kinda falters when it comes to sidequesting and general pacing. OoT, on the other hand, is a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none type. No outstanding strengths outside maybe some of its dungeon design, but it's devoid of weaknesses as well. Shit's sound as fuck all-around.
>>321351782
muh nigga
>>321352946
pisses me off, I was the one person that liked the gold covers
>>321351782
>>321352548
Hey, still better than OP's garbage.
>>321354143
>Hey man, the Oracles are post-MM and those are the best 2D Zeldas
True.
>>321354658
>TP is a lot like OoT
How, aside from the forced story references? Even the design of the game failed to capture the dark hallways and 'simple yet detailed' world. The music is nothing like Ocarina aside from the few songs you belt out as a Wolf (fucking stupid mechanic). And as you said, exploration and questing is nothing like Ocarina.
So really, what's similar to Ocarina besides the lore connections? By that logic, Wind Waker has more in common to Ocarina than TP does.
Terra is best Final Fantasy protag.
>>321354103
>I love TP
>I don't give a shit about anything outside of the linear main quest
unsurprising
>>321352748
mah nigga
>>321355358
Wind Waker's the exact opposite. Shit main quest, fun side stuff.
Favorite?
Not of all time, but my current FotM
>>321355264
Well, probably that it's one of the least explicitly experimental Zeldas out there. The game does feel like it's a bigger, slightly darker take on OoT's general foundation. Other titles generally did a lot more to form their own identity - WW takes place in a massive ocean and goes from there, MM goes for broke with the setting, focus, and mechanics, SS plays with the idea of turning pretty much everything into a puzzle, the duology nature of the Oracles, Spirit Tracks' train system, and so on. TP has its ideas like wolf form and a greater emphasis on characters and narrative in the storyline, but none of them are so substantial as to keep the game from feeling like it was trying to be a bigger, badder OoT. Whether you think it succeeded or failed is up to personal interpretation but by and large, TP does more to feel like a mid-2000's OoT than to forge its own identity. I'm pretty sure part of the reason I like TP so much is because OoT was my first Zelda and TP felt like a loose return to its form. It's not a full-on clone, but aside from the narrative even WW feels like it has its distinct differences in approach. It's not that TP doesn't try a little but it doesn't hit that mark. It's most substantial difference is probably the greater focus on combat scenarios, which was admittedly smart considering it has the best combat mechanics in the series to date. And then there's the general perception that TP was made in retaliation to the initial reaction to WW, opting to bring Zelda back to the beloved N64 style.

WW has the best first half of any Zelda. It just slips when the Triforce comes up.

Filtered.

Both Mario Galaxies. Imcan't decide on one of them.

>>321357318
tripfags: disregard them, filter, and move on.
>>321357318
Megaman X is casualized garbage. The X-series in general is.
I>>321357169
See. This is an issue. WAS it good? Sure. Does it hold up? No. It's fucking garbo.
>>321357469
Mega Man in general except the Zero series isn't really hard. Lots of people claim Legends is their favorite one and it's easy as shit.
>>321357140
Yeah, nah. I don't think a whole lot of WW's main story is particularly strong. Some parts are but on the whole a lot of it is forgettable. I think WW shines far brighter outside of the main quest, though. Charting the ocean and exploring new islands is where that game's really at.
The best part is, we all know P5 is going to be even better.

Good man

Well for everyone who isn't a basement-dwelling sperg it's still a great game.
Tripfags proving once again they have shit taste.
>>321352548
I used to hate this game. I beat it once, around the time of its release, and didn't bother with it again. That was until recently. I gave it another chance, around the time the HD remake was announced. I ended up doing a full playthrough. I loved it so much and so many things stood out to me that I remembered as being bad, or they just didn't leave much of an impression on me on my first playthrough. For example, the hidden sword moves. That was a big motivator to keep me playing. It is very fun and satisfying, unlocking new moves. Another good thing about TP is the combat system. It is the only 3D Zelda other than Skyward Sword with a good combat system, everything else is just really easy, spamming type combat systems for babies. In TP the difficulty curve is very solid and the enemies that you have to actually attack properly occur in much greater quantities as the game progresses. It also has the best writing / story / lore out of all the Zelda games.
I ended up loving the game so much I did another playthrough for a 100% run, and another instantly afterwards to do a 3 heart run. TP is one of the best Zelda games, I'd say it's a 9/10.
>>321357607
>I don't think a whole lot of WW's main story is particularly strong.
It starts stronger than the others with no "rescue Zelda" plot right away and the game emphasizing that you're not the legendary hero. Plus the first 3 dungeons are better than the usual opening dungeons in Zelda
>>321357562
>Zero series
That's only particularly hard if you're a score junkie. I honestly don't think much of its level design stands up without the scoring system, or at least not in a way that makes it superior to classic, X, or even ZX. I actually tend to get bored when playing the Zero games if I'm to be honest.
>>321357024
Mega Man X and Twilight Princess are the only good games listed there.
>>321357503
It absolutely holds up. You're mad because you can't jump or something, but the game is clearly about it's combat system which hasn't by some arbitrary time limit become dumber or archaic.
>>321357886
>Plus the first 3 dungeons are better than the usual opening dungeons in Zelda
In regards to OoT I'll agree there but the other 3D Zeldas, not so much.
Is Treasure dead?
>>321358118
>other 3D Zeldas, not so much.
MM doesn't really count since 3 dungeons are 75% of the game, but TP's are fucking awful. I couldn't force myself to get that far in SS though.
>>321358179
Apparently they worked on Gaist Crusher for 3DS so I don't think they are. S&P3 would be pretty neat, though.
>>321357673
>forced mascot again
I'm not so sure.
>>321358410
I don't think there are any "fucking awful" dungeons in TP. Forest Temple and Lakebed Temple are the weakest in the game, sure, but I still found considerable merit in both. And then there's Goron Mines which is probably a top half dungeon for me because fuck year magnetism. SS's first 2 dungeons are just alright but then it comes back swinging like a motherfucker with Lanayru Mining Facility. Absolutely fucking great dungeon.
>>321358668
>Forest Temple and Lakebed Temple are the weakest in the game, sure, but I still found considerable merit in both.
They're two of my bottom 3 of all time. Goron Mines are meh tier
>>321355824
It that WiiU's skyrim with mechs? Didn't know there were sexcats.
>>321357946
The weapon grinding alone makes it worse than any classic or X game except X7 which is iredeemably abysmal.
>>321357985
Mega Man X yes, Twilight Princess is a mediocre at best rehash of Ocarina of Time.
All of you are fucking casuals
>>321357010
Still one of my top 5 NES games and my second favorite golf game. An unappreciated classic.
>>321358179
Good fucking choice, my favorite Wii game by far. It's fucking tragic how hard this game bombed.
>>321358965
>Mega Man X yes, Twilight Princess is a mediocre at best rehash of Ocarina of Time.
OoT sucks. It's one of the most overrated games of all time.
:)
>>321359065
Yeah, but to be fair, S&P2 still did pretty good for a Treasure game. Now Astro Boy Omega Factor on the other hand...
>>321357786

Bruh, just because you only play games that look like theyd taste like shit if you actually put it in your mouth doesn't make everyone else casual.
>>321359279
That's a reddit quality post right there.
>>321358854
Really now? I wouldn't say they're any worse than OoT's first 3, MM's Woodfall Temple, most of WW's dungeons (sorry, its main quest really didn't do a lot for me), or SS's first 2. Forest Temple has the Gale Boomerang and monkey assistants while Lakebed Temple had the revolving staircase, Clawshots, Lizalfos, and the Zora Suit. I don't see how they were THAT bad. Kinda middling maybe, but not awful.
>>321359279
Quick, man, go for gold
>always have a game in mind in the back of my mind
>always forget when asked what games I like
Shit, I'm genuinely having a hard time deciding. I always end up going back to either crypt of the necrodancer or audiosurf when I come across some neat sound tracks.
I guess I'm a huge homo for rhythm games but they've been on the decline.
I don't know why I loved it but I did
