PS4 or WiiU
WiiU + PC.
PS4 some year later when it get more good exclusives.
PC & WiiU
>>321294730
I have both and I also fell for the PC mustard race scam.
Get both, PS4 is better in the long run
>>321294982
This is what I'm doing.
Got a WiiU for the Nintendo games, PC for other games.
PS4 I will get later down the line because Square Enix

>Mfw you have to pair a Wii U with a decent OC or its pointless owning one
Kek. Go with a PS4 or Xbone. The Wii U is dead as fuck despite what /v/ might tell you. Go with a console with a strong future ahead of it. Both the PS4 and Xbone have a good 5 years left in them.
what does your wifes son enjoy more shooters or platformers?
>>321295060
>planned obsolescence is "better in the long run"
This is a joke right? Literally an actual joke?
>>321294730
Trick question
Focus on PC since WiiU emulation is making fast progress and most PS4 upcoming games may come to PC soonalso fuck you frogposter
>>321295394
>implying wii u and your current build won't become obsolete either
Let me guess, your Dad works at Nintendo?
Do you like Nintendo games?
Yes? -> Wii U
No? -> PS4
PS3
>>321294730
Wait till E3 to know what the fuck is the nx
Wii U of course, it has such a bright future. Just look at all those 2016 exclusives like
>>321295532
There is a very big difference between "my computer can't run new games at maxed settings anymore" and "oh hey they released the PS5" anon, and it's no use pretending otherwise
>>321295394
You realize pretty much any current PC build will also be obsolete in 6-8 years right? Only difference is that it only costs about $400 once every 6-8 years to upgrade on PlayStation.
PS4
Wii U is practically for kids, tech is like a decade stuck in the past and is ded af
>>321295179
>Go with a console with a strong future ahead of it.
I don't give a fuck about keeping up with the videoJoneses. I'd rather buy a console with great exclusives I missed at a cheap price, and since the Wii U is going to be surpassed by another Nintendo console, wouldn't this be the best time?
>>321295886
IT'S JUST NOT FAIR
Depends if you also have a PC.
PC+Wii U is a really really great combo.
>>321296821
>lying on the internet
Wii U only has Mario and Friends rehashes designed for toddlers.
PS4 has some good exclusives, with tons more dropping in 2016/2017 and has great third party support so will be getting pretty much every single relevant game coming out.
Basically:
If you don't own a capable gaming rig -> get a PS4
If you do own a capable gaming PC -> Are you a hardcore Nintendrone?
If yes, get Wii U and PS4
If no, just get a PS4
>>321296193
Saying "only"implies that $400 is cheaper than buying a second copy of your graphics card to run in SLI at whatever it will be worth in 6 to 8 years, which is definitely not the case
To say nothing of your implication that the PS4 has 6 to 8 years of life left before the next iteration, which is ludicrous.
Fact is, if you're buying now, your PC will carry you through what's left of this gen and next gen, and then the gen after that with minor upgrades that definitely will cost less in total than buying a ps4, the next ps, then the one after that.
Which is what spurred the first post

Fucking hell, republique isn't even just a multiplat, it's a fucking tablet game
Is that image a false flag?
>>321294730
PC
Fuck consoles
Do you want some games with the promise of no games, or no games with the promise of some games?
>>321297343
The second one, which is that
>>321297067
Not really, buying a new processor and graphics card every gen is the same price or more expensive than a new console.
They're both planned obsolescence, only difference is that your parts are individually planned obsolescence while the PS4 as a whole. PlayStations only require a $300-$400 upgrade every 6-8 years (and are supported with crossgen beyond that). Are you seriously trying to tell me that you spend less than $300 on your gaming in 6-8 years?
Really the only advantage of PC is BC, but honestly the only advantage there is saving space the size of a shoebox, because if PS5 isn't BC (which I think it will be, due to the architecture), just keep your PS4. Unless you live in a fucking tiny shack, I don't see how that's an issue.

can you stop posting this image in every thread, it's just the same multiplats, weebshit, and third-person social commentary storytelling games.

PS4
Alright, here's the deal:
You can either jump through hoops and try to justify not owning a PS4, the definitively superior console this gen, and own a PS3, PSV, XB1, and gaming rig (when all you need is a PS4), and even then STILL miss out on the PS4 only exclusives.
OR
You can just accept that Sony won and the PS4 is getting literally every good upcoming game (only exception being XCOM2, which plays on a toaster and will likely be ported). And then if you're a nintendrone you can also pick up a Wii U.

If you don't have a wii, get a wii u
If you like Halo, get the xbone
got a wii u off of craigslist for 180, got a pc for multiplats.
Working great for me so far.
>>321298385
If you like cuckolding, get a PC
Nintendo dropped the ball big time with the Wii U and what's worse is that the NX is coming out in like a year so no point of investing in it. PS4 just flat out has more choices and since the Xbone failed, the PS4 has better opportunities to get exclusives.
>>321294730
PC and 3DS for SMT and MonHun
>>321294730
The PS4.
How is this a real question? The Wiiu is a dead console that has no future.
>>321294982
OP didn't say shit about PC. But it's the only way to make the Wiiu even remotely viable.
>>321294730
Used WiiU.
Far, Far cheaper.
Better games for the moment
As soon as NX releases, you'll probably have all the games dues to piracy.
>>321298834
That's not how you put on a beanie
My buddies seem to want to get a PS4 so I'm contemplating.
>>321297979
>>Bloodborne sequel (confirmed on official Bloodborne FB page)
>Dark souls 3 will be the last souls game
top lel
>>321294730
Save that money and put it in your index funds
>>321296950
THIS. The PS4 is gonna be amazing in 2017.

Used Wii U isn't bad, not sure about PS4, if you're willing to drop that go for it.
The Wii U is ded, senpai.
It also costs more than a PS4 which has another 5+ years of support ahead of it.
If you own a good PC, Wii U
If you don't it depends on which games interest you more I guess. I know personally I'm more into Splatoon and Smash than Bloodborne and Uncharted.

Literally everything follows this rule though, if you find out how to manufacture almost every type of appliance or thing you'll use, if you're not buying it from an Amish store or it's made out of completely wood/steel and has no/little interaction, chances are planned obsolescence is a 'feature'. PC has this as well to some extent, it's just something that lasts longer and isn't as evident right away. It doesn't matter too much because we have progress in the field so often anyway.
>>321295532
Nintendo is also planned obsolescence and he didn't imply it wasn't, he was talking about PC. Consoles are as close to the definition planned obsolescence as possible.
>>321294982
Building a high end pc mainly for school but wanna game too.
Any part recommendations?
