The problem with the 360, atleast early on in the generation, was the RROD problems.
There was such a high percent of people getting those failures.
I honestly did not get a 360 because of that and the CD scratching.

I seriously don't understand how people can say it was good. I had an early gen 360 which RRODed once, they eventually sent me a new one, but live absolutely fucking sucked for the most part. The matches on COD3 dropped every fucking second, everyone would randomly freeze on Gears of War, and you had to pay for it.
I eventually got a PS3 when MGS4 came out and I don't remember having any problems of that kind. I can't speak for early gen PSN but I know how horrible live was

it's not so much that PSN was shitty but that the PS3 was shitty until mid-2008 when the in-game cross media bar launched. Before that you couldn't even read or respond to text messages in-game.

The RROD was unfortunate but I only had one console cark it. I heard about people going through as many as 8 consoles. I think the RROD was largely conditional, if you kept your space tidy and didn't live in a shithole it would have been fine.

Honestly it's pretty great. I actually canceled my PS+ even though I have PSVITA, PS3, PS4 so I can play Live.
You just can't compete with the multilayer offerings and better system stability.
I was one of the last people playing Halo 2, I'll be one of the last playing Halo Reach.

1. There's no real reason to play DOOM, of all games, on console.
2. The 360 port has fucking awful controls you can't configure, like having a slow turn speed with no sensitivity option and weapon select on d-pad when it should obviously be on the bumpers. The ZDoom sourceport has far better 360 pad support, for fuck's sake.
That being said the extra episode for DOOM II is dope af and would be worth it (I own it) if it wasn't so readily pirateable on PC.
