By now I've finished both Crisis Core and FF7. I'm eager to see if it hold up.
It could have just been a short film that consisted of the only fight where the full party was involved (the Bahamut scene), which was the only part worth watching.

Nah it's shit. I'm a huge fanboy for FF7 but AC is fucking garbage. Also what about the side characters like Barret, Yuffie, Red XIII, Cait Sith, Cid etc? No idea. I went in expecting a shallow, but fun anime-style action flick taking place in the FFVII universe two years after the game and wasn't disappointed at all.
I think it gets a lot of shit from people that either expected more of an action/adventure plot like the game rather than a high-octane action movie, or have a poor interpretation of Cloud in their heads where he's emotionally immune to hard times or something (the latter usually comes from westerners.)
Back when I was in Japan, I remember the movie being rather well-liked, but I think that's because people went in expecting what it was, and weren't disappointed when it turned out to be exactly that.
Everyone not Sephiroth or his doubles talked like how Yuna's dub does in FFX, even Cloud.
Can you imagine it now? Why there would be those who dislike it.

This. Outside of Kingdom Hearts, Nomura himself has never "downgraded" Tifa's tids. Quite the opposite; he's always portrayed them about the same size, and other people just made them larger or smaller in their works, FMV included.
I remember some commentary awhile back from the Spirits Within guy that he made Tifa that way because the 3D program they were working with at the time couldn't make Tifa's breasts look right without looking flat or outright huge with no middleground, so he went with huge and it ended up looking mildly ridiculous compared to the art he was instructed to follow.

ACC completely rewrites two scenes and adds a whole bunch of extra context to the film that helps make it structurally cohesive.
It's not a masterpiece, but it's not bad either.
Perception in hentai doujins and 3dCG porn vids, maybe. In Doujins they tend to fuck it up, too; Most of the time, they show Tifa as some curvy tit monster, when in actuality, she's kind of a skinny twig aside from her boobs.
Most fanart is generally consistent with Nomura's canon tit size, some even smaller.

It was batter watching it years after it came out, I kind of really liked it. When was it, about three years ago. I think it's very deserved of its rating, 7/10, but the movie is about Cloud, and really about his own life being stuck in the past.
The ending in particular is very emotional, he finds redemption for himself.
It's far better than the anime that was put out.

He's a clone only at the genetic level. My understanding of the whole process is this; SOLDIERs are modified at the cellular level by bathing in mako, which makes them sick and opens their body to genetic modification by weakening the cells, at which point they introduce Jenova Cells, which repair their bodies into a superhuman version of themselves given their shapeshifting properties and the natural regenerative capabilities that they have, resulting in their bodies being remodeled on the cellular level.
Cloud, on the other hand, went through the same process, but was given cells directly from Sephiroth's body, which are perfectly attuned to the human physiology given that he was modified int he womb, making him far stronger than even top-tier SOLDIERs. Instead of being modified into a cookie cutter Jenova-enhanced supersoldier, his genetic structure took on a form closer to Sephiroth's, which is why Sephiroth has control over him and the other caped Nibelheim survivors (who also went through the process,) but not the average SOLDIER, and also why he's the only being in the world capable of matching Sephiroth in strength.
