Does anyone on /v/ use a 4K tv for current gen consoles?
I'm wondering if you're had trouble with input lag, specifically or larger tv's such as 65 inches
Also I'm wondering if I should buy a 65 inch 4k for around £1000 ($1500) or a build a gaming PC instead?

Curved is a gimmick

build a midrange gaming pc for around 600-800 bucks and spend the rest one something nice or just hang onto it.
hardware is not at the point for consoles that it can reliably drive 4k at even 30 fps.
pcs are getting there but you need a lot of vram and most likely a top tier graphicscard to achieve playable framerates.
youd be better off getting a good i5 and a 960gtx or and amd equivalent and playing at 1080p at 60fps than spending more money for overexpensive hardware that is gonna be cheaper in two generations due to a die shrink thats happening currently.

Why would you buy 4k tv for console games that inconsistently render 1080p and 900p game by game? Consoles don't even support Ultra Blu Ray, let alone real-time 4k gaming.
You just going to play games non-native resolution which basically stretches the screen, and makes it blurry.

it's a lot better than using multiple moniters
>>321241771
It's more because the TV on offer and happens to be 4k
I would rather it be 1080p desu but this is the best price
>>321241771
Yeah, if you buy a 4k tv only to use it on consoles that dont support it you're just wasting your time.

>tfw just barely large
>>321240187
>someone asks about a tv or something not about computers
>WELL JUST BUY A COMPUTER DUH
you tools are fucking retarded
>>321239513
As with all TV's, most will have a 'game' mode or something similar which will turn off most of the processing and give you normal response
>>321242389
With 4k TV's, they often have a huge amount of input lag, like 600-800 ms
>>321239513
>Buy a 4k TV to play games with a 720p 30 fps box instead of buying a gaming PC that can do 4k 60fps and get the TV a little later.
Spend the entire 1500 on a dual GPU setup OP and get the TV. Sounds like you are loaded anyway.

Nigga, current gen consoles can barely run some games at 1080 and unless you plan to use them to watch a lot of movies or the like you are just wasting movies.
>>321243503
>>321242996
Obviously I know no console can run at true 4k, I'm asking how bad it is upscaled
The 4k is incidental
>>321243679
Are you retarded? Why would you spend a ton of money on a TV to consume content not at it's native resolution?
>How bad is it upscaled
It's shit. Better than 1080p upscaled which consoles do but still shit. Why waste your money not buying things properly.
>>321242247
>Calls us tools
>Can't even fucking read OP's post.
>>321242247
>Also I'm wondering if I should buy a 65 inch 4k for around £1000 ($1500) or a build a gaming PC instead?
>>321239513
>upscaling sup 1080p games to 4k
holy shit, how retarded are console gamers?
>>321243919
>>321243831
THE 4K IS INCIDENTAL, THE TV IS ON SPECIAL OFFER AND IS CHEAPER THAN 1080P 65 INCH ONES
DO YOU UNDERSTAND???? I DON'T CARE ABOUT 4K, I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF IT RUNS WELL
>>321244023
>It's cheaper than a TV I already can't support the native resolution for so I'm saying if I should get it!
I don't know you tell me genius.
>>321244023
I heard it makes mustard gas, don't do it man
>>321244220
So you're saying ps4/xbone users should just buy 720p tv's
>>321244757
You might as well.
Using a 4k monitor on console gaming is truly casting pearls before swine.
Even the next generation of console is unlikely to go higher than 1080p. Assuming there IS a next generation.
>>321241879
>tfw 7 and a third
>>321244757
It literally won't make a difference so if it's cheaper sure.
>>321239513
HDTV = input lag
4k tv = EXTREME input lag ?
>Buying a 4K TV right before CES
>Tfw OLED with Rec. 2020
>>321245551
Yes
>>321241879
6,6. Average,just like the rest of my life ;_;
