Become a lord and get your own feudal troops. Or join big armies and fight as a mercenary (there's always active wars going on with so many factions). Or use the Freelancer option.

Napoleonic Wars is great for multiplayer. Theres even a bot survival server.

Cutting damage in general is extremely poor against lords and knights with coat of plates or other high-end armour. The damage values are adjusted to the realistic direction.
Archery, despite being cutting damage as well in the mod, also kinda works because power draw scales better than power attack. With below 5 power draw you barelymake a dent against high-end troops but if you get it really high, you can against start 1-shotting enemies.

I like Warsword but only because I like Warhammer. The assets used vary from great to "is that fucking goraud shading?" terrible. Its also been in develeopment for a gorillion years with promises of updates everyweek that get delayed to the next week and so on. I really, really wish the modders worked on it because fuck yeah Warhammer.

The thing with ACOK is the creator is ADICK that refused to fix broken mechanics and awful gameplay decisions such as unavoidable stat loss that cannot be recovered for the stupidest things.
Like,

I haven't tried the mod in a year so maybe it was fixed, if not you could try A World of Ice and Fire, it seems to be about as well reviewed.

Fuck Floris. There's a difficult but fair battles, and then there's bullshit 3000+ bandit hordes. Then there's also those castle battles that see-saws between heavily favoring the defenders to 'lol, what defense'. It's an excellent mod, but it's severely overrated.

Last Days of the Third Age
Its a LoTR mod and its simply epic. Made a female elf into a major badass who rides across the battlefield, shooting arrows into the ranks of invading orcs and giving orders to a band of heroes in attempt to save Middle Earth from destruction. I serve the local elf and human forces well and so far have taken part in a few enemy stronghold seiges and destroyed at least one enemy faction.
