I used Cloud/Vincent/Red XIII and didn't find him particularly hard.
I think I used Howling Moon and Vincent's first Limit, maybe Climhazzard as well
It didn't strike me as terribly difficult. It was harder getting to it, honestly.

Heres an easy as fuck way to beat him even for a scrub like you:
>Put everyone in the back row
>Give everyone sadness
>Cast bio on him until he gets poisoned
>Just sit there guarding and healing until he dies from the poison
