What features do you want in Project Cars 2?

Also, did you like Project Cars 1? What would you change?

I want it to be a sim instead of some Forza/GT bullshit
>>
>>321180103

Less shitty devs.
>>
Linux support.
>>
>>321180161
Why wasn't it good? Is it just an edgy answer?
>>321180172
isn't fun subjective? If you don't like realistic racing of course it's not fun to you, or is it something else?
>>321180239
Aren't Forza and GT sims when you disable all the driving aids?
>>
>>321180440
>linux
>>
>>321180453
No, the physics are gimped and less advanced than GPL from 1998 to begin with. On top of that there's tons of invisible aids that you can't even turn off. You literally can't even drive a simulator with a gamepad without aids. Try for yourself in rFactor or Assetto
>>
>>321180149
No, because it took them 3 months to fix a flat tire issues coming out of the pits.
>>
>>321180508
Windows 7 EOL is only 4 years away.

Project Cars promised Linux support, but hasn't delivered on that yet. So until then I'll be playing GRID Autosport instead.
>>
>>321180453
>when you disable all the driving aids?
Real cars have driving aids to. It's not a sim because it's not supposed to be. The only racing sim that has ever been on console is Richard burns rally.
>>
>>321180704
I've done it in both, along with DirtRally and GTR-2
>>
Why does no one complain about the fact that it had like 4 cars for each championship???

What the fuck man I get that it's supposed to be cool and give you variety, but you just get a glimpse of everything and no full experience.
>>
>>321180831

The devs are twofaced and got snobby when they got a publisher. A real shame considering all the work the community put into the game.
>>
>>321180912
>RBR
>Sim
sim of what? every surface is just ice. it's a shit sim.
>>
>>321180987
DirtRally isn't a sim. It's in the same genre as Forza/GT. As for GTR-2, when I say "drive a simulator" i don't mean "lol I made it around the track" I mean setting reasonable laptimes, within 5% of WR
>>
>>321181407
>dirty rally isn't a sim
Oh let me guess, you are one of those faggots who thinks RBR drive on ice all day is a sim.

>you are only good if you are in the top 5 players of a game
fuck off, and die.
>>
>>321181190
Its a real shame that projects like Speed Dreams can't get that kind of community support. The big advantage of open source stuff is that no shitty dev or publisher can take what the community has built away.
>>
>>321181397
>>321181407
>every surface is just ice
Lol, that's how every casual reviews sims on gamespot.
Here's a detailed interview with the physics guy

>bu-buh muh opinions on car's i've never driven are worth more than hard empirical evidence

>you are only good if you are in the top 5 players of a game

The majority of people who play sims are at least within 7%. You're just bad or a casual if you're not
Here's evidence http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/index.php?page=rank&car=41&track=341
>>
>>321181953
The cars in RBR drive like literal shit, I'm not going to argue with some shit head who doesn't even own a car.

then what is a sim? rfactor? It's borderline unplayable!

No, but that's not even relevant you idiot. You're playing the same game as the guy who set the time

If you're bad or play with a gamepad yes

It's shit, and the only people even played RF was because of drifto
>>
>>321182305
You haven't even read it. At this point you're showing that you're willfully ignorant and your opinion is worthless
>>
>>321182247
yes I tried it with a gamepad, but asking for a game that you can only play with wheel and pedals is almost like asking the devs to work for free. Rfactor may be a "sim" as you intend, but you can collide through things, for god's sake
>>
>>321181478
DR isn't a sim. It was going to be and then they released it half finished lol...
>>
>>321182265
did it really happen?
>>
>>321182362
>read a article from a developer justifying their shit game
RBR is garbage. Your claims that if you aren't in the top 5% are also garbage, As being in the top 5% in every game doesn't mean you are good, it means you know how to abuse the system.

you use alpha builds and know how to break it.

>>321182427
Ohh but the developers call it a sim, they even have professional drivers who know more about cars you've never driven.

So clearly by your standards it's a sim.
>>
>>321182427
how's it compared to RBR, is it rally that arcade?
Isn't Dirt like a spiritual successor of RBR?
>>
>>321182365
>a game that you can only play with wheel and pedals
That's how pretty much all sims work and they're doing fine. It's just not you're type of game. You want something more casual. That's fine.

>>321182359
Wrong.
>>
>>321182503
you have an entire thread of people calling you out faggot, you are wrong, should feel wrong and will get cancer and die.
>>
>>321182503
it's not that "I" want it. It's like the devs need it to make money. REAL sims are for a super niche audience.
>>
>>321182597
could you please stop with this "die" thing? We get that you disagree with him, but you're talking about a fucking videogame
>>

if it hurts your feelings go back to facebook/reddit so people who are wrong and fucking stupid can moral next to you to make you feel special and wanted

>developer justifying their shit game
You haven't even read it. At this point you're showing that you're willfully ignorant and your opinion is worthless
>you use alpha builds and know how to break it.
Times are reset with updates and version is checked while you set your lap. You're simply bad at racing sims. I don't see why you're upset. Also you can't even read. I said you should be within 5% of the WR time, not top 5% of players. The majority of sim racers are within 5%

>>321182597
I already said they're doing fine money wise. You're wrong. And yes it's pretty niche because most people prefer more casual stuff like console games

All top times in racing sims have several abuses. Tire temps, walls, and also leading is broken setups which break the laws around a real car. Many times you can build a custom setup and find by accident that you are now 5 seconds faster.

>>
>>321182968
>All top times in racing sims have several abuses
No. You're making excuses for why you're bad instead of practicing and getting better. You're a casual
>break the laws around a real car.
>that's not even relevant you idiot. You're playing the same game as the guy who set the time

>Many times you can build a custom setup and find by accident that you are now 5 seconds faster.
Setup work is part of getting good in sim racing. Also you will never find 5 seconds unless you're really bad and far off the pace. The top 30 times (almost 10% of all times) are within 2 seconds.
http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/index.php?page=rank&car=41&track=341
>>
>>321183357
Watch any video of a top time runner, you will see the abuse.

Anyways, I'm out, done dealing with this cis white scum.
>>
>>321183357
>vast majority of drivers are at 2:16
>then you have 3 drivers at 2:14
yes, like I said, abusing game physics.
>>
>>321183413
>people better than me are cheating
You're a casual.
>>321183496
See above. Also there's a pretty even gap between all the times. You can't even count. Also for AC specifically they just reset the times for patch. If you look back in 6 months the gaps will be filled.
>>
>>321183357
>video games are real
Just to put it into perspective
http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/spa-francorchamps

Those laptimes are about 30 seconds faster then the car could do in real life.
>>
>>321183748
I wasn't arguing that video games are real. You can't read properly
>>
>>321183986
Furthermore using real lap times as a benchmark for realism is beyond retarded since you can have extremely accurate laptimes in mario kart by just adjusting the grip coefficient and not touching anything else in the physics engine.
Here's an interesting post about it from someone who builds race-cars for a living.
https://drracing.wordpress.com/2014/01/03/how-close-is-close-enough/
I'm guessing you'll reply
>bu-buh muh opinions on car's i've never driven are worth more than hard empirical evidence
>>
>>321183986
>>321184263
>real life doesn't matter
Then it's not a sim.
>>
>>321185371
It matters. It's what sims strive for, and they're really close, but not completely. Try actually reading the post from the guy who actually builds race cars for a living
>>
>>321185831
>30 seconds a lap difference
>close
That cars laptimes is closer to an F1 time world record in real life then it is the real cars time around spa.
>>
Game was complete shit sim-arcade compared to Assetto Corsa.

Game was complete and utter failure as sim compared to rFactor
>>
>>321185882
We know nothing about the conditions where the "fastestlaps.com" times comes from. Meanwhile both RF and AC are realistic enough to be the base for F1 grade driver practice simulators.
Try actually reading the post from the guy who actually builds race cars for a living
>bu-buh muh opinions on car's i've never driven are worth more than hard empirical evidence
>>
>>321186172
>f1 grade driver practice
Neither of those are F1 grade, they use heavily modified code from them which is nothing like the games.

For being so persistent you sure are fucking stupid.
>>
>>321186259
>heavily modified code
Nigga if they could just write their own engine they would. The biggest difference is that they use their own custom track and (obviously) car data. The core simulation i similar.
