Dark Forces - solid Doom clone
Jedi Knight 1 - ugly as sin and very clunky, but playable I guess
Jedi Knight 2 - the best Star Wars FPS ever made, by a long way, and one of the top 5 Star Wars games in general
Jedi Academy - it's like JK2 but more flashy and less enjoyable

Huh? Everything about Outcast/Academy is considerably slower than JK2. Movement is like half as fast, switching weapons has some kind of delay, lasers seem like they're moving in slow motion mid air, guns are less accurate overall (except the basic storm trooper rifle), even swinging the saber feels like it's underwater in comparison. Outcast/Academy certainly look better, and the force powers are way more fleshed out, but JK2 is anything but "clunky"; infact it's comicly fast.

I found the levels to be pretty fucking obtuse and complicated for a star wars game. It's a old quicksave-quickload spam game but it aged pretty well. lightsaber combat and styles and force powers were done really well.

They should do a remake of the original Dark Forces with the engine and assets from the new Battlefront though. So that at least that game wasn't a complete waste. Or Shadows of the Empire.
