after you turn off the twenty different tracking options and other nuisances, it's better than 7 or 8.1 which are both dead soon enough.

I upgraded and used Spybot Anti-Beacon to stop most of it's cancer, it's same shit as Windows 7 but with a different UI, didn't notice any improvement in video games, only improvement for me was the boot time
There is no point in upgrading from W7 except for better looking icons, that about it.
The only good choice is to use Linux as your daily driver and boot Botnet10 for vidya.
I won a prebuilt with this 2 days ago from some contest at my job. Downloaded some games from the sale, they work pretty good.

My dad got a win10 pc recently despite my advice not to get rid of his machine with 7.
If it is on at all, our already terrible connection is slowed to a crawl. It's impossible to play anything online or download at a reasonable rate if he's even playing solitaire.
On the plus side, it pisses him off a lot, so he spends more time outside and probably won't die as soon.

Only problem seems to be that alt-tabbing out of games is slower. Actually, any software switching into or out of fullscreen mode does it noticeably slower.
It's probably related to the fact that I'm running a 5 year old videocard.
Any other problems I have beyond that are limited to the fact that I'm using a shit ton of legacy software, which are less and less usable.
The new Start Menu can be pimped pretty nicely though, if you give it a few minutes.

Ours is much lower than it should be because of rural internet. The issue is that over half of our bandwidth is consumed by the constant networking processes that can't be disabled.

Mine definitely booted faster in Win7, but only by a small amount.
Also the tablet style lock screen when you first log in or unlock the computer is really annoying.
It works better with multiple monitors than Win7 though, you can have different wallpapers on each display.
Never noticed any difference as far as game performance goes.

Upgraded for the Xbox one wireless dingle. It's OK. You can disable most stuff but it's still buggy like it the monitor goes to sleep your volume icon might disappear. Weird growing pains. Now that the drivers are out for 7 I wish I would have waited, but not bad enough to roll back.
My rural internet is already shit enough as it is. I don't need that tracking shit to clog it up even more.

i have a g3258 + 750ti combo and i had 50-65 fps in killing floor 2 with windows 8
with windows 10 i have 60-75 fps

I'm a professional pc repair bro. Like I made my own program that does more than anything people or individual programs do.
Windows 10's major problem is that it's antimalware process is so aggressive it can tear it's own OS' stability and speed apart.
If you upgrade your pc to windows 10; make damn sure your windows has NO os issues at ALL. Also it will most likely remove your antivirus after or during the upgrade; and have fun with its processes taking up 100% cpu.
Also have fun with the start menu requiring like a million seperate disk reads and net connections to load properly; so if your pc is slow at all itll really show. I've fixed like hundreds of these windows 10 pc's already. I hated it when 8 came out, I hate 10 even more.
