Is this a good sign, or a bad sign /v/?
>>321108897
Is what? That it looks the same?
>>321108897
Wasn't the fact that they sold what were free mods as paid DLC sign enough for you?
>>321108897
Wow, their map design is still astoundingly horrible. Scrap everything except the fonts.
>>321108897
Map looks mostly the same.
Who cares, though it's functional and that's all that matters.
I'm more interested in the faction changes. Towns start flipping colors all over the place frequently without seiges.
Looks okay I suppose.
I wish more games did that type of map.
WHEN THE FUCK DOES IT COME OUT
NEW NAPOLEONIC WARS MOD/DLC WHEN?
>>321108897
please don't fuck us over with paid dlc please don't fuck us over with paid dlc please don't fuck us over with paid dlc please don't fuck us over with paid dlc please don't fuck us over with paid dlc please don't fuck us over with paid dlc
>>321108897
It's good. I'm actually kind of excited for this now.
I guess it's too early to have a 100% open world with troops and armies roaming around the game map. But that would be really cool.
How much does a new font pack cost? Kickstarter when?
I wonder how they come up with the town names.
>Warband style game set in WWI Europe
Would this be good y/n/?
>>321113027
How would that work? WW1 is only 1 war, while Warband has endless wars.
Looks a lot like the first one
But better lighting
>them seasons and changing town colours
>DICK=ERECT
It looks better than what I expected actually. I was more interested in the overhaul of the below the surface systems like trade, diplomacy, bartering, and fief management, so visuals are sort of extra. The best part is that it confirms that those fucking turks are still alive and working after like, what, 4 months of silence?
>>321113350
I meant more like a WWI-esque setting rather than literally WWI itself
>>321113025
>I wonder how they come up with the town names.
The blue ones near the river have an obviously Greek/Latin influence. "Marathea" is just "Marathon" with a different, feminine ending suffix.
The too closest settlements have a Gaelic/Welsh influence.
>>321113025
Chances are they use Greek/Latin and probably some Turkish or a subset of of Turkic languages influences to make town names
>>321113859
yeah because WW1 was full of indepentent war parties, looters and sieges everywhere
nah
>>321110312
paid dlc?
what like napoleon wars?
last i checked those were made by a different team and the guys that made mount and blade just liscensed the engine for them to design it on
in which case, why not let them charge money
I hope they make rivers significant. Bridges were meaningless bits of land and held no importance in battle at all.
>>321113859
It wouldnt do well. Especially when it comes to the multiplay. Multiplayer would really havebtomfocus on tanks and aeroplanes with no man lands everywhere making for a boring game, would also ruin the point of closer battles
Just face it the Great War and forward are just plain boring
>>321110707
>needing a siege to get one's allegiance
You sure seem like a history-buff, Chad.
>>321115143
0/10 poor trolling
>>321110707
0/10
Poor knowledge.
>>321108897
It looks pretty pathetic to be honest. Like... it's been a decade since the last game.
>>321115351
With the way these games work I'd be afraid if they got too ambitious with graphics, they'd have to make sacrifices elsewhere
Plus isn't the team still a few Turks in a basement
Looks fucking horrible desu senpai.
>>321115323
>>321115143
Retards. I'm talking about gameplay. In Warband, you have to fight or go to a lord and talk to them to get them switch allegiances. Things don't flip around that fast. This seems like it's changed how that works.
why the fuck are people complaining about dlc and shit like this is some huge rich company
>>321115618
Yeah I guess they may have to dumb down their sophisticated AI if too much resources were allocated to graphics.
>>321115762
What I meant was that if they put more into graphics it'd be a lot harder to have 100-200 units on screen at a time without the game lagging to a halt
>>321108897
Well apart from some bugs and graphical issues looks like a typical M&B map to me
Which is good.
>>321113897
>too
Two. fuck me.
Epicrotea uses a Greek prefix "Epi" meaning near and a feminine word ending. It's really easy to make place names when you are just using another language you are familiar with.
A different technique I use is substituting letters in a word for like letters. I have a very half-assed understanding of phonetics but it helps a little. For example, let's say you want to name a town in a cold place. Let's take a cold word like... "Hoarfrost"
You could just drop the "h". "Oarfrost." It sound folksy too.
Drop the "a" to simplify it if you're not happy. "Orfrost"
The first r can morph to r. Olfrost.
Or you could transplant the second r on the backside of the second o to hide the word "frost" more. Also, morph that r to an l. "Oarfolst"
Substituting different stop consonants(p, b, t, d, g) works often.
Nasals m and n can be interchanged.
I can't remember what part of them makes them similar enough to substitute but f, w, and v can often be switched with decent results.

>Was is dieses dann, eh?
>Je vais boire à votre crâne
>Этo пoчти yбopки ypoжaя
>>321115743
whos going to stop them from jewing people with dlc? people will defend them if they add dlc factions, weapons, units, whatever. m&b is a lot more popular now than it was when warband released.
>>321108897
I hope they add some MOTHERFUCKING DEPTH TO THE BATTLES
First off the battlefield is ridiculously small
Second command system and formation system is piss garbage
Third, they need to add depth like in Total War, where you actually need a strategy, like securing a hill, or a bridge, or an important point, caring about people's morale so keeping flanks covered, soldiers getting tired etc
>>321117849
>add depth like in Total War
He, hehe, heheheh,ahahahahahah
>>321117962
It's sadly true when compared to M&B.
>>321117962
There is depth in Total War battles. My strategy has been WE WILL KILL DEM ALL! since Rome and its worked a treat
>>321115714
You do realize you're seeing it in very fast forward, you might not see the sieges or the graphics for it got changed/aren't implemented yet.
>Things don't flip around that fast.
It only applied to walled castles and cities, villages flip all the time.
>>321116254
That was a lot more complex than I expected. Pretty neat process. Thanks, anon.
>>321118043
Not by much
Positioning is still important in M&B, just a bitch to get to work, but they have formations in the base game for the new M&B so hopefully that improves it a bit.
Although moral would be a pretty good mechanic to add in, maybe wounded soldiers would rout as well rather than fight.
>>321118732
Soldier try to rout from a battle in Warband already when things get too bloody
>>321118732
Position is not important in M&B. All you do is get on a hill.
>>321108897
>winter
seems pretty bad to me. my army will be mostly archers
>>321119894
>positioning is not important
>except for positioning
Nigga, what are you doing
Also, flanking with cav and rear charging the enemy is devastating.
>same ugly ass font
>>321117849
TWENTY-FIVE
KILOMETER
BATTLEFIELDS
>>321120923
There are only 25 one kilometer maps? Thats awful, just awful.
>>321120324
This
Just as commanding your heavy cavalry to charge through the enemy line and regroup to go for a second charge at the time your infantry should reach the enemy line
better menus, better town management, better UI is all I want
will there be churches or temples?
is this your porn folder, anon
>>321112735
Fuck you it should be sengoku jidai this time, you still get your guns and shit but now even more melee variety and better combat in general
Is Bannerlord the poster child for development hell?
Napoleonic wars is on sale for less than 2 bucks. Is the community dead though? I wouldn't mind doing some line battling.
>>321124303
It's ok. idk, 200-500 players during gaming hours?
I only play commander battles though.
>>321121793
finn?
>>321124175
Half Life 3 still exists, and DNF before it.
>>321108897
That fucking font still.
I just hope there's a better filter during combat, having letters all over the screen is pretty shit
>>321108897
Well it looks exactly like Warband
