Scanlines, good or bad? I remember HD CRTs using scanlines to hide artifacts lines aliasing and low resolution textures to some degree.
There's absolutely no use for them now, so bad. Only autistic hipsters will say otherwise.

It's literally a graphical artifact that existed due to hardware limitations that no longer exist.
Only for old ass games when they expected you to have an old ass tube or else they'd look like a pixel mess.
Though you need more than scanlines to fix this up
They were developed on monitors with scanlines and shipped to a market where scanlines were the reality. Scanlines are more accurate and you care about accuracy you'll play on the original hardware or attempt to get a scanline shader as close to the real thing as you can.
Good when games were developed with scanlines in mind.
