Fish's ability is pretty good and I use his thronebutt a lot. There are enemies designed to outpace you and sometiems you quick boost of speed can get you some shitty spots. There's been a lot of times I'm sure I couldn't have gotten through L 3-3 without Water Boost.

If you pass through a portal while holding it you "stash" it. That means you can select to start a new run with it at character select as opposed to the revolver. They also all have better stats than their plain alternative, however the difference is minuscule.

This game is hard as shit, but the weapons are enjoyable. Farthest I've made it was 5-3, that one blue flamethrower boss is cancer

Strong spirit is the best mutation and should be taken whenever possible
Rabbit paw is probably the second best mutation 90% of the time
Impact wrists is VERY good on loops, nearly mandatory imo
Plutonium hunger+second stomach+rabbit paw is a great trio
Eagle eyes, stress, euphoria, last wish, and sharp teeth are largely worthless unless you're going for a specific build
trigger fingers and hammerhead shouldn't be underestimated
