Sot of. The visuals are realy pretty. It's a completely different atmosphere that shows what Pixel envisioned for the game and that the original CS's sprites couldn't show. They added a couple of new areas that are kinda nice too.
The rest is kinda shit. Mainly the music. Controls also feel very different for a reason.
I bought it just to have a physical edition of Cave Story to be honest.
