People must be desperate, tim has already proven how incompetent he is.
>>
>>320917797
How long ago was this shit even announced?

Wasn't Tim secretly extending the deadlines or something?
>>
>>320917797
I honestly cant tell if this is a post for or against the game.
>>
>>320917797
Not even joking, but why do people care so much about this? The original Psychonauts was mediocre at best.
>>
>>320918348
dialog was fun, had some funny ideas for levels even if it fully refined the best way. I pledged because i would have ended up getting once it came out, and pledging when i did got it cheaper for me.
Not off the wall excited, but at least interested.
>>
>>320918348

I hope it's funny. I'm happy to hear Horvitz is coming back, so it can't be a total wash. Mechanically it'll probably be terrible, and the gameplay will probably be half assed but I'll stomach all that bs just to get closure with the characters.

I'm not giving the a penny to crowdfund, so if it ends up totally unplayable I'll just wash my hands of the series and Tim forever. This is literally all he has left I even begin to give a shit about.
>>
>>320917797

I never would have imagined hating the idea of a psychonauts 2 being made several years ago. Why did Tim have to ruin everything?
>>
>>320917797
I don't understand why people are willingly ignorant to how bad Tim is with money. Yes, he has been involved in the development of some good games in the past, games that touch the nostalgia button for a lot of people, but his current record when free from the reigns of a publisher has been mediocre at best to downright shameful as worst. Why are people so quick to give this guy money?
>>
>>320917797
Fuck off shill

>still not funded

Well, at least people seem to be learning.

As of now:
$10*1,071 Backers = $10710
$33*3,299 Backers = $108867
$39*6,148 Backers = $239772
$69*1,639 Backers = $113091
$100*1,358 Backers = $135800
$150*1,395 Backers = $209250
$250*534 Backers = $133500
$350*64 Backers = $22400
$400*143 Backers = $57200
$500*92 Backers = $46000
$800*72 Backers = $57600
$2,000*11 Backers = $22000
$5,000*1 Backer = $5,000
$5,000*5 Backers =$25,000
$5,000*1 Backer =$5,000
$5,000*1 Backer =$5,000
$10,000*3 Backers = $30,000
So compared to the "17,134 Backers, 2,842,510", my math gave me 15,837 Backers and $1,226,190
Which means that the un-private investors make up about 92% of the backers and donated only 43% total $2,842,510
When you have to add an additional 10Milion on top of the fucking $3.3M according to the site through even more fucking investors, it looks like Psychonauts 2 will not be the game people wanted
>>
>>320921928
For more math fun, the <8% of people totals out to 1297 backers, and averaged out, they would be donating about $1247 each to pay for the $1,616,320 not paid by the 92%
There's some shady shit going on
>>
Can't believe it has no chance to make its funding
>>
>>320918348
The original Psychonauts was one of the best, new and original ideas of that generation. It was like playing a cartoon. The gameplay isn't stellar but everything else is on point.
>>
>>320917797

Honestly, I'm waiting for the big infographic about how bad an investment into the game is.

They would only break even if the game sells as many games as pyschonaut 1, with a wholesale of $21 dollars?

Pyschonaut 1 probably had a fucking wholesale price of a 2 dollars for humblebundle, which was 50% of their sales..

People will be bitching about this game losing them money FOR YEARS

A good portion of it is likely from investors (especially considering they recently ran out of shares to give out)

But here's the weird thing, the Fig's 3.3M is supposed to be the money made from fans and then investors are supposed to cover the additional 10 million to fund the rest of the game, if they are already having to reach out to investors now just to get the 3.3M, what will that mean for the game's full budget?

Anyone who gave Tim "The 3.3 Million Dollar Dream" Schafer money after the last five years of pissing and shitting all over his fan's good will deserves whatever disappointment Psychonauts 2 turns out to be.
>>
Broken Age was good so why do people assume this won't be?
>inb4 Broken Age wasn't good
>>
I liked Psychonauts so much that I really hope this will never, ever see the light of day. The original was a diamond in the rough; the sequel will be a fucking facefull of glass shards if they actually release it. The absolute best case scenario is that it's a semi-decent, competently-made game, and it would still be a horrible disappointment, because it wouldn't be FUCKING PSYCHONAUTS THE FIRST.

>not jaded, just JUDICIOUS with my excitement

Also, I googled it and got some results from early 2012 when Notch was talking about getting in on the action. I'd forgotten all about that. They've been talking about this for almost four years and they're just now doing a crowdfunding campaign, for a game TENTATIVELY slated for release in 2018. Smells like vaporware.
>>
>>320927807

3.3 million wasn't enough to get a decent 2D sidescroller with. why would it be enough for this? can't people realize they're just paying for these guys' rent while they do no work?
>>
>>320931401
It won't be.

Schafer himself said the first one needed about 15 million a long time ago.

It's history repeating itself. The only reason he isn't using Kickstarter is because the new terms makes it so he can't slink out of delivering properly.

How do they get private investor money?

I'm honestly curious. I don't think any of their games have made a serious profit. Their ROI can't be that high.
