Really fun. Music and writing is still as good as ever, and a lot of the boss battles are fucking great. Enemy attacks in general also seem much more creative/fun to dodge, and I like the way the regular and paper versions of enemies work together, makes for some tricky dodging.

The modern character designs look worse for being too uncanny and simplistic, they were made that way because it was easier to puppet the individual pieces around. He should re-draw the original designs as hi-res sprites.
The NPC character changes are unnecessary and generally ugly or nonsensical.
The lack of colored outlines is a change for the worse, and makes the characters look less lively.
The animations look choppier with the broken up modern designs. There are ways of including sprite count, he should figure it out.
All of his additions feel out of place and irrelevant.
The textures are less detailed and too bright.
The atmosphere and art style is compromised, it looks more armature and sterile than the originally.
I'm just waiting for the neckbeard to sit back smugly in his chair as "lolitrolu" is posted.
