Honestly, it's impressive how Sony gives less of a fuck about third party exclusives than M$ at this point, sure they tied down DLC shit with CoD and Destiny, but god damn, they are basically funding Kojima's next game and they are letting him put it on PC, same for Shenmue to an extent, and they aren't even trying to push W10 like M$.
All I want Sony to do is push for more rare PS2 games to be buyable on PSN to show there is interest in those games for potential sequels

They don't do sequels to old franchises unless it has a proven track record or it's for handheld. Everybody's Golf, Gran Turismo and Singstar do sell well and they're very iterative. Sony builds and retires franchises after 3-4 entries. Reboots never happen.

I love first party exclusives because they bring a certain flavor to a console. Original Xbox had my favorite exclusive lineup of all time, and owning that console just had a very unique, green, Sega-y feel to it. A console's lineup should be special, specific to that console. There's a certain magic in good first party lineups.
Sony's is seriously lacking atm, but I want it to improve, not disappear.

First party is useless. Sony isn't succesful because of first party. It never has been. They built their success on top of third parties and they continue that with the PS4. First, Final Fantasy 7 remake, promoting MGS V, promoting Street Fighter V, Promoting Shenmue 3 Kickstarter. This is how Sony gets die hard fans behind them by showing interest in certain third party games they cater to gamers interest. Destiny, Watch Dogs and Call of Duty all sold over 10m copies. Sony has benefited hugely from the marketing deals they've made. They'll do the same for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XV to capture the gamers attention.

Exclusive titles force you to buy a shitty piece of hardware just to play a certain game, not to mention the other shit consoles come with, e.g. spying on their users, online subscription fees, etc.
Multiplatform is clearly the best for the user, since then the user can freely choose on which hardware he wants to run the game, not to mention that this brings competition to the table since now the quality of how well games run can be compared and measured.
The only people who benefit from exclusive titles are hardware manufacturers. Nobody else does.
