So does anyone know the best/quickest strategy if you want to spend no money / as little as possible? Should I unlock alt-world ASAP?
>>
>>320902280
you have to play the dailies for a year to get everything for free

focus first on unlocking areas

it's a shareware game
>>
I just bought it to get infinite gem things.
$35 for a puzzle game ain't that bad in my opinion
>>
>>320902475
Only a year? I figured it would be longer considering mega evolution levels cost 500 each + every new area costs a bunch etc. I'm on the 5th area now IIRC. But I'm wondering if I should keep just getting areas or would alt-world be a better investment? Do you need to unlock areas again in alt-world or do you have access to the same levels?
>>
if you want to play everyday you need to spend money , theres no way around it. I already bought like 3000 points
>>
>>320902854
Mega Evos are a one time thing. Once you get the pen it can be used on everyone.
>>
>>320902843

theres like 6 picross games on the eshop and each one is $6
>>
>>320902843
Tax? The game only costs 30 bucks (the 5000 picrite until you do free)
>>
>>320902843
You could have bought the other Picross games for way less on the 3DS eshop. They are like 5-6 bucks each.
>>
>>320902984

oh shit cool, nice to now that
>>
The only winning move is not to play.
>>
>>320903068
Aus dollars
>>320903082
They don't have pokemon in it. Plus I am shit and need help on the 20 x 15 puzzles. I am sure I am going ot get wrecked in alt world.
>>
>>320903205

I wish that were true but picross is actually really fun.
>>
>>320903205
But I like Picross and finished all the other ones... and I like Pokemon too. I just don't like off-putting payment models and want to game it if I can
>>
>mfw the lack of options in this game
First thing I did in all the picross-e games was turn off all forms of hints. The whole Pokemon hint system is cool because you're not forced to use it, but telling you your mistakes (read: mistaps) and greying out the numbers really bugs me.
>>
>>320903516

It only tells you of your mistakes in the first part of the game. Once you get past the tutorials the only way to know you have made mistakes is if you have specific pokemon on.

And greying out the numbers doesn't matter if your numbers are wrong at that point.
>>
>>320903810
>It only tells you of your mistakes in the first part of the game
Oh, that's good. I still don't like the greyed out numbers... they gave the option in every other 3DS Picross game, why not in this one? Obviously I'm playing the game regardless but it fucks with how I'm used to solving the puzzles.
>>
The only thing I hate aside from the obvious "free" label and the grind to obtain the free status is the fact that there really is no pure button only option. I still have to end up using the touch screens to navigate the menu, fix my pokemon or restart a game might have accidentally started.
>>
>>320903328
>>320903205
>people think it's an F2P model

it's literally a glorified demo with shareware sensibilities, you generally are paying for a 30 dollar game
>>
>>320906362
>"energy" system
>ingame currency that you can get a tiny bit every day by playing or pay real money for
>random ingame currency walls all over the game
>its not a F2P model its just a demo!
um ok

does it actually have 5x the content of the other picross-e games to justify 5x the price if we are to assume it's "just a demo" and that you're supposed to pay the full 30?
>>
>>320906774
>I don't know what shareware is

Fucking millennial, If it was f2p there wouldn't be a "ceiling", this game has a payment ceiling. If you buy 30 bucks worth of content it will be fully-paid.
>>
>>320907148
i know what shareware is and it's nothing like anything i described in my previous post. it was here's a clean 1/3rd of the game, if you want the other 2/3rds you gotta buy em.
>>
>>320902280
I played it for few days, then decided - fuck it, bought mario picross for gameboy VC and never touched that F2P bullshit.
>>
>>320902280
I'd say spend enough to get infinite energy, then make sure to always get your dailies and unlock new areas. Otherwise, you might want to just spend the $35 and get everything
>>
>>320907285
Just like a shareware.

>>320907295
>F2P

>>320907513
>free playing
>spending on energy

if you're free playing save your picrites on area unlocking
>>
>>320907727
>F2P
what? It is.
Or F2Start or stomething
>>
>>320907727
>Just like a shareware.
...can you even read?
>>
>>320907845
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shareware#Demoware

If you had those shareware CDs in the 90's you'd immediately recognize what Pokemon Picross is

>>320907797
By that logic a lot of the demos in PSN or Live are F2P because you essentially buy a code to unlock since the demo themselves are the game.

Like I said, shareware fits more of this, specifically a sub-type of shareware.
>>
>>320908781
eh, probably. I just wish it was released as full game instead.
which most shovelware were
>>
>>320909451
They did though, you just have to shell 30 bucks.

This is why I don't agree on it being F2P because there's a concrete full price for it.
>>
>>320909526
30$ too much for digital only puzzle game, considering that full price physical releases are 40$.
I'd think about getting it if it was 15$
>>
>>320909942
yeah now this I can agree on, the price range

I guess the pokemon tag makes it more expensive, but I heard it only has half of the mons. However if they manage to get all mons and all formes, I think 30 bucks would be fair.
>>
So when you pay the $35, you no longer have any paywalls? Or do you still need to grind for currency to unlock new areas and wait for the pokemon to cool down?

Cause if the latter, then anyone who spent money on this is an idiot.
>>
>>320910685
and if they had better gameplay and stick to art design more.
I mean it's a pixel art, but there are roundy fonts, blur and other stuff.
And thing I hate the most, almost everything must be done via touch screen, and I love solving puzzles via button input, and after solving one I need to get stilus out and navigate thru menu.
Fucking terrible UI design there.
>>
>>320912758
You get free picrites every day once you paid 30 (or 35 in your case) bucks

>>320912847
oh I agree on the input, it's so stupid that you still have to use stylus despite using buttons
>>
>>320912758
Literally everything in the game can be circumvented with picrites, so once you get the the infinite picrites you no longer have to wait for anything. You can instantly unlock all areas, purchase infinite energy, and reset the cooldowns on all your pokemon with picrites.

Though, I believe there's a limit of like 1000 picrites a day or something for the infinite thing. Not sure, but it's probably more than most would know what to do with.
>>
>>320913627
Ah, glad I got around all that by using rxtools and hacking in the picrites.
>>
>>320913898
>lying

pretty sure no one has managed to make an exploit for unli-picrites yet, at least according to the threads I've been to
>>
>>320909942
It actually only has about 2.5 Picross e games worth of content which would come out to be about $15.

>Please use a stylus.
>>
>>320915771
which is why I hope it gets eventual additional content, since it doesn't have all of the pokemon and their formes

From what I've heard, there's a bunch of shit you can spend on like hints and crazy shit.

How much can you play for free if you just play normal picross without any of the extra fluff?
>>
>>320917329
there are no hints, only Pokemon (which do special stuff that help you out)

You can get as far as Area 5 if you keep picrites for unlocking areas (and perfecting the puzzle conditions, which shouldn't be hard), then there are daily challenges which start with measly 3-4 picrites for doing it, but you also gain a level if you do it within 2 mins (up to level 10, which then always rewards 8 picrites if you them it within 2 mins)
