What happened? Does anybody actually still have a working fat 360?

My family 360 still works somehow. We've had it since 2008. I haven't used it once since 2009 though.
>>
I do
>one of the first 360 Pro imported in my county
>still works
>>
2005-2007 consoles all died. Then Microsoft fixed the warping motherboards finally after years of heat exposure. Anything made after 2008 is probably good. I had a refurbished one for several years before upgrading to a new model. Every one I bought in store seemed to fuck up within a year (disc drive and rrod).

Yee Xbox 360 halo 3 edition. Fucker sounds like a chainsaw when I rev it up. Too lazy to take q better picture.
>>
>>320845074
I have a few of them that still work. I had to call microshit about 7 or 8 different times to fix the red ring of death though. I never had to pay for it to be shipped/fixed even though they said it was out of warranty.

>>320845375
Everyone called it the 360 fag, thats why they named it xbox one in the hopes of it being called the one.
>>
mine E74'd once

is that the same?
>>
Kinda, the disc drive is fucked.
>>
I took mine apart, stuck on some thermal paste and blasted it randomly with a heatgun and it's worked great ever since.

I do. I just picked up a bundle deal from gamester for 80 bucks. It's funny cause as soon as I went to play it I got the red rings. It wasn't RRoD though it was cause I didn't put the hard drive in all the way.
>>
repping the old school black 120gb elite 360. hasn't had any problems from when i've had it in 2010 - no RROD, no disc drive problems, nada

>buy new one from walmart

Did this like 5 times I think. Did it with my 3ds too.

My launch 360 still works fine. It sounds like a jet engine and runs very hot but it works.

Bullshit. Each item has a serial code that is checked upon return. Maybe you got away with it once but stop lion anon.

My friend actually went that far as to swap the serial number stickers in the little USB pocket
>>
Just a reminder that someone could have played their first game on the 360 when they were 8, and are now old enough to post on /v/.
>>
My 360 technically works, although it got RRoD and my warranty had ran out by the time it happened. So I sent it to a local place that did repairs and they simply sped up the fan. So now my 360 sounds like a jet engine whenever it gets used.
>>
>>320845074
I have one and I've never had a problem since I bought it in 2008 and I play it more often than anything else

Went through 7 of them but still have a fat white 360 working.
>>
I had the opposite experience to the norm.

>tfw went through 7 PS2's in the first year, all laser reader faults
>tfw Sony refused to fix it the 8th time due to going off original warranty date
>tfw launch 360 lasted years and years
>>
My Arcade 360 RR'd during a game of Dead Rising. I freaked out and basically jumped across the room to pull the plug. After about 10 minutes I plugged it back in and it worked fine.
>>
>>320845074
My friend has one with "character" it's had multiple RRoD's but he kinda just blows off the insides and it works again. You have to smack it to get the disc tray to open. Still works though
>>
>>320845074
Mine got the red ring four or five years ago, just inside warranty. Sent it off and it got fixed, never had a problem since. Bit annoyed that the courier told me they just gave you a new one instead of fixing it but suppose I kept my old saves.

>bought Xbone from a junkie
>played RDR and Bayonetta, didn't want to pay for Live so I just got the PS3 version of RDR and it played just fine.
Fags tend to embellish the quality of multiplats, Bayonetta seemed to be the only exception of something that is absolute shit on PS3 but isn't on PC. Haven't turned on my 360 in like 3 years even though I bought Viva Piñata and Lost Odyssey and have yet to play them.
>>
most of /v/ were 8 when the 360 was released

Does anyone remember what a piece of shit CoD 2 was on live? What a fucking disaster

I towel tricked my launch 360 3 or 4 times until it finally kicked the bucket.

Game had no multiplayer lobby. You had to do an elaborate trick to create one (copied from a forum becasue I forgot how):

>Well actually thats not completely right. You are not SUPPOSED to be able to host a "room". But there is a trick to getting it to work...

>1. you have to have an Xbox Arcade game downloaded where you can invite people to play and a friend online too.

>2. Whoever wants to host goes under Multiplayer -> System Link -> Create Game and then sets up the options just like you want and then or at the same time..

>3. other friend invites that person to the arcade game, but the trick is for the host to say "yes" the first time and when it says are you sure you hit "no", then you will be on live in your own room but random people will start joining.

>4. the other person must fairly quickly go to "join game session" in order for them to get in the game also without waiting.

>Kinda complicated but thats the only way we play now, it will also let more than 8 people in so sometimes it gets more laggy, but being able to pick the map and all options is worth it.

Unbelievable. Also the netcode was such shit. Matchmaking took like 15 minutes and because there was no lobby, EVERY SINGLE ROUND took 15 minutes to start. I made friends with some canadian guy that lived like next door to his ISP and played exclusively in private games after that.
>>
Is the YLOD actually inevitable?

My ps3 is still going strong after 9 years.
>>
I do.m, but I had 5 die on me over the course of owning one. Once I sent one in to be fixed, they sent me a new one and it was red ringed right out of the box. I still have the five faceplates from all the ones that died. Want to do something with them, like paint them so I can swap them out every now and then but I'm a lazy fuck.
>>
My 360 is 9 years old this Christmas and it hasn't ROGed yet, but the drive will randomly stop playing a disc so I have to install all games.
>>
>>320845074
All the Jasper one are still working fine. Only Xenon/Zephyr had really horrible failure rate. Falcon to a lesser extent.

Jaspers on the other hands were fine. Still have a 16MB JTAG'd Jasper, using it quite often and it works perfectly fine.
>>
>tfw I thought it was just a meme as I had no problems and consistently used it for long periods even during summer
>it eventually died one day and I was mad as hell because I had to ship it to Germany or something (bonglander) and be sent a repaired one

I ended up buying a new one (not the slim, but the later model early 360) because it was around Christmas and the price was cut and I just sold the repaired one.

I'd say that I wished I got a PS3 instead of 360, but most of my friends had it and parties and big multiplayer on things like RDR were great. Other than that, I just regret getting one of the consoles at all really. I had a gaming PC and the exclusives for both were pretty uninteresting to me. Maybe I should have got a cheap Wii.
>>
>>320845074
microsoft really fucked up with the 360, how the fuck do you go from something advance like the xbox to 360? i remember the original 360 didnt even have hdmi

I've been pondering getting one cheap from gamestop or something, though risk of red ring still prevents me from doing it. How's the piracy scene for it? I might still get one since it comes with a controller.

I gave mine to Microsoft in June after E3

They gave me 100 to put towards the xbone, no regrets

I went through 3 of those pieces of shit, all lasted less than 8 months each. Meanwhile the PS3 fat needed repairs when we bought it and it still fucking works.
