Any of Hellhound from Winged Viper, Phantom Counter from FMJ, either of Fast Forward (Galactic Knight) or Trigger Happy (Winged Viper) depending on if you want to focus on melee or range, same goes for Yamato Spirit (Samurai Gunner) or Third Eye (Commando).
Your main goal is to be building TP as your overdrive is happening, so TP-building arts and skills help that out. The other goal is to get your combo counter as high as you can since that multiplies the damage and bonuses you get from it, which is based on number of hits of whatever move you use. Orange arts and Yellow arts won't count if used back to back, so you have to link them with a purple/blue/green to keep adding to combo counts.
Green and blue arts add to your white bar on the side of the counter, which is your timer. So if you use those, you extend your overdrive time in most combos, which can keep things going infinitely. If you build enough TP, you can overdrive again to refill the gauge without resetting the counter. I've heard by the time you get to 99 hits, it overflows and stays active the rest of the fight, but any fight I overdrive in ends before it hits 99 hits.
I'll toss more into another post.

I'm trying to go a ramjet/photon build, feels like I'm hitting enemies with a damp towel, not doing much damage at all.
Like I can build TP relatively quickly but then I'm not doing much damage with it. Is there specific arts/skills that supplement the build better than others?

Every color art to a different color art (aside from orange/yellow) have a unique second effect to it, it'll have it pop up next to the counter when you use an art, so try to remember them. I've kinda got no idea, aside from green arts doubling the number of hits added to the counter on whatever the next art you use is.
For FMJ, a popular way to do infinite overdrive is using Ghostwalker and Blood Sacrifice in the arts, since Ghostwalker guarantees as many hits as the level of the buff will miss you while active, and blood sacrifice halves your HP for tons of TP to easily keep in overdrive, plus two buffs means more time on the clock + more doubled hit counters + more transitions between melee and range.

Basically like in XBC with chain attacks, same color builds up the chain damage combo and white allows transition to a different color, except this time it's purple that does the job.

Put on Starfall Blossom, Slash, Rondo, and Duster, Essence Exchange, Geolibrium, Phenomenon, and Assault Hammer. Put on Supreme Sword and Fast Forward skills, and whatever else for damage or Hellhound for overdrive.
Get some max TP boosting equipment/augments, and aim to go overdrive with the tons of TP from the ramjet autoattack when everything else is on cooldown and essence exchange uses. Spam the shit out of all your melee you can in a row, Starfall Rondo's the most consistently amazing if you let it fully charge + melee combo into it.
Assault Hammer's there because more melee, plus overdrive makes topple effect basically guaranteed as far as I can tell.

Note you need at least one charge left in your insurance when the AI has it. Otherwise you'll still get billed when they eject. Better to just sell a skell that has no insurance left and put the money toward a new one.

My character looks good up close but super potato zoomed out even a bit. I made her look like Ritsu, which she does, but she just looks ultra downs, even more than Lin, at any zoom further than cutscene mode. It's a real goddamn shame, because I just can't bring myself to change her look either.
