The only 2 genres I could think of where fps matters are shooters and rhythm games, but even there you'd need 144 fps to git gud. (eg in osu its nearly impossible to read ar11 without a 144 hz monitor)

I absolutely don't give a shit about graphics or even frame rates. I play almost entirely indie games now because they are different and interesting. Playing online almost always turns into a boring snoozefest where everyone has the same optimized class/build. Nintendo produces the most innovative games and with the most value, and that's not saying much.

I prefer 30FPS over 60 because of muh immersion. 60FPS is so fluid that it becomes"un-natural" to watch

Mario 64 aged horribly. The camera controls just aren't good, they're solid considering how early the game released but goddamn if they're not frustrating now a days.
Also the N64 catches way too much praise. The Playstation 1 was the superior console that gen, it had more games and games on par with some of the N64s best releases. Klonoa, Tomba, Spyro, Crash, Ape Escape and Oddworld are all easily comparable to SM64, Banjo, Donkey Kong 64, Mischief Makers, and Conker's, and the PS1 platformers hold a fuckton of diversity were as the N64 ones are largley 3D collect-a-thon games.
I just hate how many kids hold up N64 games as the pinnacle of gaming and say the PS1 just had bulk games, but nothing as quality as the N64 (even hear that trash here, it's that rampant of a mindset). Both were great consoles and both had great games, but the PS1 pretty much trumps the N64 in all aspects outside of multiplayer. Nintendo's lack of third party support post SNES has made all their consoles post N64 really lacking.
As i grew up i started to go for more "art" and "story" in the game instead of complex gameplay, wich is why i enjoy a lot of indie titles that focus on trying to tell a story rather than being another Minecraft clone
It's one of the reasons why i consider Majora's Mask the best Zelda game in the lineup

How was someone supposed to figure out all of those side quests naturally? A lot of them rely on dumb luck and guess work really. Even MatthewMatosis touched down on this issue, so don't tell me to "lol git gud". Also needing to redo sections of the game repeatedly because of the 3 day limit was annoying really.

I absolutely agree I grew up with the N64 and played multiplayer over my house all the time, but I still love going over his house with the PS1, even though half the time I was just watching him play.
