Why did everyone hate this game?
I think it was the cringey script and theme song. Gameplay was alright and pretty unique, but it got goddamn brutal as the levels went on. Many a thrown GameCube controller was had.

It was a totally solid 3D Sonic game which was aesthetically on point as well.

A vocal minority isn't everyone.
No chao garden and generally less fun than the sonic stages from the past games. Less variety. To me the quality is on par with a decent shovelware tv show tie in game.

honestly if i still had my gamecube and a working copy of the game i wouldn't mind playing it again right now. emulators are laggy as fuck for some reason so i cant use them.

There actually is a PC version although you can imagine the controls are gonna be pretty awful. (I played it and it was bad but still bearable)

It was good, it just came out at the beginning the downward spiral that was sonic. Shadow and this game kind of started it actually.
Sonic Adventure 3 is what we actually needed and never got. Then Sonic could retire after having a chao filled fun adventure game with tons of playable characters and minimal treasure hunting and mech battling.

It's a really slippery, ugly and generally shoddy platformer the first time, but you have to play it four times in order to actually beat the game

Am I the only one who genuinely liked Shadow's game non-ironically? Like, it was closer to SA2's gameplay than Heroes was and I actually liked the gunplay. I wouldn't mind if they gave it another try with more polish.
