if yes then buy it, if you enjoy racing I'd imagine you'd buy a fast vehicle
>>
>>320791760
You don't need a z97 mobo for a cpu that can't be OC'd, you can probably save some dosh by going with an h97
>>
>>320792164
Not that anon, but sometimes my internet goes out (tfw Alaska internet) and it's good to have some decent porn on the HDD just in case.
>>
>>320792193
By that do you mean "buy a prebuilt"? If you don't mind paying more for something you could get for cheaper then go for it I guess.
>>
>>320792193
if you're playing video games you have the time you lazy sack of shit just build it yourself
>>
>>320792193
the only time i recommend a prebuilt to anyone is a laptop or a tablet hybrid

I bet you don't even reupload things to forums when you notice your favorite fetish content producer decides to suddenly stop and takes down all their videos / pictures / etc

Windows 10 is shit, get Windows 7.
>>
>>320792193

If you have a few free hours than you can build a PC

It's about as complicated as assembling furniture
>>
>>320792989
windows 7 are not sold anymore
>>
>>320793038
you can still buy and install it retard it didnt vanish
>>
Do you guys usually do a clean install of windows when changing motherboards?
>>
>>320791724
>recommends an 390

Never used AMD, how much of the driver maymay is true and how much is just nVidia propaganda
>>
>>320792008

How does the budget change anything?

If anything somebody on a strict budget should be more interested in OCing as it helps you get the most out of your hardware.
>>
>>320793246

Built an AMD PC several months ago, no evident driver issues so far.
>>
Trying to go for 1440p gaming here.
Doubt I'll find any alternatives for a decent monitor.

Do yourself a favor and get and Intel i3 processor. Similar in price to the fx-6350, but much more powerful.

Other than that, the build looks good for a mid-low end tier pc.

Just buy a PS4 and all three games for it. Seriously, this build is already long outdated.
>>
>>320790952
You don't need an aftermarket cooler if you're getting a locked CPU. Either get the unlocked 6300 and overclock or take out the EVO.
>>
>>320793038
you're right and wrong man, they're still being sold..in other countries. Just go the extra mile (heh) and order from another country, have them ship it to you

Hai, senpai-dono.
>>
>>320793838
a 750 ti is low end but it is still more powerful the the gpu in the consoles.
>>
>>320793038
you can get refurbished one for like half of what they usually go for, used one for my new pc and it worked fine

Just went to Microcenter looking at parts, trying to figure things out for my first build
I'm budgeting $2,500 because I'm done banging rocks together. Considering 2 980s, and i7 5930k, among other bits.
Tell me I'm an idiot, and why.

Also, do you not have an extra copy of Windows? Ebay has a bunch of PCs with Win7+ stickers, and they have extra storage as well or just server potential. The best deal is probably a Core 2 Duo, 3GHz+, and Win7, for example.

Also, that's relevant because Microsoft provides the ISO with a key.

Might as well get a 6600k at this point if you're going to throw that much money at a gaming PC

- If you're on a budget, drop the case fan and aftermarket cooler. You can upgrade it later, and if it's your first build, you will appreciate the difference an aftermarket cooler will make down the road more than you would right now.
- Get a cheaper motherboard. Unless you plan on overclocking the shit out of your CPU, you should be fine with a ~$60-80 mobo.
- Drop the OS and just transfer a copy from another computer or pirate. Both are equally simple.
- That GPU is pretty underpowered nowadays, I'd definitely recommend an r9 270X, which you can get for ~$40 than what you're paying.
- You should probably get a better PSU, but for $30 I guess it's not much to sacrifice if you decide to upgrade down the road. 430W is plenty for your build, with enough headroom to upgrade to a slightly better GPU.
- You should probably go Intel if you want to do games, especially if you ever plan on spending more than $250 on a GPU somewhere down the road, since those are guaranteed to be bottlenecked by the FX-6350.

Looking to build a pc for vidya development as well as Autodesk/Maya 3d creation and animation. Though I only have 1,200$ to spend on the build itself at the moment.

The recommended specs for Unreal 4 are only the following on their page:
Windows 7 64-bit or Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later
Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz or faster
NVIDIA GeForce 470 GTX or AMD Radeon 6870 HD series card or higher
8 GB RAM

Any builds that people here could recommend for a vidyadev workstation?
>>
>>320791760
Get a msi r9 380 instead if the gtx 960. Same price. Better performance. Also. Z97 would be useless for your pc..get a h97
>>
>>320797441
why do you think you can develop vidya if you don't understand hardware?

start with the basics, young anon. a developer should never have to ask about basic hardware questions.
>>
>>320797441
If you're doing legit work, I'd get an i7. You should be fine with a 750 ti, but if you plan on creating anything graphically intensive (especially if you're working in Unreal, where the pre-packaged stuff is already fairly taxing), maybe go for a higher end card like the r9 390.
16 GB of memory might also help, but it depends on how many programs you like having open at one time. It's fairly inexpensive, so I'd say go for it.

>>320797810
You have no idea how many indie devs get by with just a shitty acer laptop. There's a huge difference between knowing PC hardware and knowing how to program.
