Is it going to be shit?

probably

Rome 2 was a smoking pile of shit and you had to buy Atilla to fucking fix it. So you basically have to pay $120 dollars for a game that isn't playable for a year.

They really pissed off a lot of the old fans.

>>320777773
Yes.

I don't trust neo-CA at all. There's buggy and then there's straight up unfinished. Modded Rome is still more than enough for me.
>>
>>320778292
Rome is shit
>>
>>320777773
nah
>>
>>320778417
How playable are Medieval and Shogun right now? Has the series evolved too much to go back or are they still playable?
>>
>>320777773
Just watch the newest stream. Now you can't conquer any settlements that aren't your "nemesis" race.
>>
>>320778796
Medieval is definitely playable. Lots of features were cut going from Medieval to Rome such as dismounting in battle, betraying allies mid battle, picking sides in civil wars, named officers with traits and titles you can assign to them. Lots of people latch onto Rome because it was their first TW game and has shiny 3D graphics.
>>
>>320778817
Goddammit, really? This together with the hero's and quests is making it sound like the campaigns are going to be linear as hell. Warhammer's such a big world that they went to so much trouble recreating, but now I have to play it their way? That's shit.
>>
>>320779084
Might be worth a look once I finish my Rome: Total Realism campaign then. Rome was my first Total War so I'm curious about this one now.

Also the nature of the campaign map means you'll actually have a challenge unlike the absolutely retarded AI in Rome.
>>
>>320779329
That does look sensible. Moving within provinces confuses the hell out of the AI and doesn't really seem to be worth the handful of tactical options it provides.
>>
>>320779317
Remember to rebind your controls to WASD and get used to left mouse button being used to move and select units.
>>
Why does CA backslide so much? They've had good features in previous games but then they forget they exist when making their new games.
>>
>>320777773
>Warhammer
No shit its going to suck.
>>
>>320779463
Medieval actually offers more tactical options really since depending on your settlement building you can either retreat to the walls or fight a land battle while in RTW you generally just retreat into a corner. Battles are more decisive too.

>>320779678
Different dev team for warhammer
>>
>>320779840
I understand they have multiple teams and that the majority of team members from the original teams have long left the company, but haven't they played the older games?
>>
>>320779727
Are you saying that if it's LOTR or any other fantasy setting it will be better?
>>
>>320780202
Well there's a decent amount of old team members at CA. At least for the team that worked on Attila but chances are the new talent working on Warhammer have probably never touched a Total War game. The real issue is people in designer roles though since they really decide what a game shapes up to be.

isnt this answer a straw man fallacy...curious.
>>
>>320777773
It doesnt matter if its good or shit

You wont get a logical answer here.

What the hell is going on in this post?
>>
>>320781129
Warhammer is cursed. It's an amazing setting that as soon as it leaves the writer's and artist's hands it goes to shit.

It's just to hard for people to capture the Warhammer vibe and still make a good product.
>>
>>320782307
Mordheim is good but very slow and punishing.
>>
>>320782432

Thats a nice way to say RNG shitfest.

I have to agree with >>320782503

The amount of rolls was bad in the tabletop, still bad in the game. Art's nice though.
>>
>>320782684
Yeah they were way too faithful to the tabletop

People who play tabletop are willing to put up with a lot more RNG bullshit than vidya players. People who play vidya are used to control and punishment if they fail, not punishment by RNG.
>>
where can i get medieval 1 from?
>>
>>320783428
