Ever stop to think that when it comes to third-party characters he has to go through a lot of shit to use them? Look at fucking Cloud, Squeenix would only let Sakurai use TWO music tracks and neither of them are remixed, the ony trophies are Cloud's, and the only FF-related Mii costume was a Chocobo hat. Sakuria likely had to suck every cock in Square HQ to be able to use Geno.
As for actual Nintendo characters, Sakurai's mind has always been odd when it comes to them. He never just outrght says he doesn't like a character or won't put them in, he always makes up goofy excuses that often contradict another character with the same situation that is in, or give a reason about making it playable will ruin its character and then have the character as a hazard doing exactly what he said will ruin its character. Plus he doesn't give a shit about fan demand, a ton of Japanese people wanted Saki on the roster in Brawl and Sakurai made him an Assist Trophy. It's a miracle we got Mewtwo, Roy, and Lucas back for 4.
