The voice acting does hamper the emotion in the plot at times, but otherwise, it's still good. The cast is all very likeable too.

Reid's anime trope is "I love food", and he has basically no other defining features until he undergoes some generic JRPG trials about 2/3rds of the way through the game. Keele's probably the best party member because he's the only one who's actually intelligent. Despite all my complaints about the game as a whole, the plot's actually not that bad overall.

I really wanted to like Zestiria, but now all it really has going for it is a great OST and a cast that manages to not have anyone that I hate. I thought the on-map battles would be a huge improvement, and they still *could* be, if only the camera weren't so terrible.

Graces f is the "battle system" game, where fighting is a lot of fun if you're good, but just tedious if you suck. It's story is shit, and the main character is probably the densest generic JRPG retard. Some of the other party members are alright, though.
Also, Graces deserves special recognition for being the game that took the overworld out of mainstream tales games, a step back from which the series will probably never recover. (or did hearts come before graces? I don't remember)

While Vesperia is my favorite in the series, it does NOT have better dungeon design than Symphonia. There are barely any puzzles in dungeons in Vesperia aside from Ghasfarost and Heracles. Otherwise the dungeons were straightforward with the branches toward treasure. Symphonia's elemental theme dungeons all had puzzles, as did most dungeons - the most tedious of them being Ymir Forest (fuck that).
I don't feel like Phantasia does any better, but the random battles in that game really only serve to compound how annoying many of the dungeons were.

I don't know, I really liked Phantasia's dungeons, especially the optional lategame ones which were just out of nowhere and massively huge. I agree that they were much less fun due to the random encounters, but I really like the kinds of dungeons where you go back to a familiar area only to find out that barely scratched the surface the first time through (basically I'm thinking of the moria mine). Golden sun 2 also did this really well, but it's not a tales game.

Depends on your tolerance for anime tropes because they are heavy in that game. Combat is fun and it's easy to pull off cool looking combos. I also think it was one of the better balanced Tales to play on the high difficulties since the bonus you got for titles and weapon fusions power you up a ton.
The MC is easy to use but he is probably the least interesting to fight with so try other party members if your not feeling him. Sophie is particularity fun since she borrows moves from every cast member and has great movement.

Completely disagree. My first Tales was Symphonia and I believe Graces is one of the best entries in the series. The gameplay is absolutely fantastic. The characters were all interesting (or entertaining). The only bad aspect was the music (one of Sakuraba's worst, not because of the battle themes but the town and road themes. Some were abysmal and pretty repetitive) and overall plot (it's not that bad, but the final twist has been done so many times it's not even funny anymore). The maps are fairly straightforward and linear, but fuck that, it never bothered me, and at least there's puzzles in the dungeons.
Also, Xillia is fucking disgusting, a steaming pile of hot shit. Really shitty game. The sequel is even worse.
