I hope this doesn't mean they'll skip on the physical release. Usually when games are that big they don't bother because they don't want to release whole DVD box worth of discs for one game. Or they go the "steam installer/only half the game on one DVD" route.

DaS 1 was 3,7GB and neatly fits on one DVD. Not even dual layer.

I read it on a non English news site so I didn't include it in the OP. Several sites have reported on it in English I find in google. Their source seems to be the Steam page or something but I couldn't verify.

Dark Souls 3 supports 12 languages but only has English full audio so I don't think it's that. Unless it's uncompressed audio and a load of Cutscenes.

I understand 'Blu Ray' but is there some standards rule that says you have to fill the Blu Ray. Is there even any advantage? Current consoles load times are getting fucking shit compared to last gen and I wouldn't be surprised if bloated files is part of the problem.

However all the Souls games are 'blu-ray' yet we had 4 gig for 1, 22gig for 2 now 50gig for 3. Just seems like they themselves are wasting money or cutting into profits as this just looks like unnecessary bandwidth costs.

Absolutely true. There is this thing obviously that developers have to always put an i7 as recommended CPU as part of some agreement with Intel I assume. No game uses hyper-threading so any equivalent i5 will work just as fine but they have to push i7 for marketing to gamers and make it look better.

When the CPU requirements are SO LOW they have to use an ancient i7 for the recommended spec like in this case in order to fulfill the always an i7 as recommended rule. It's bullshit. As the 8GB RAM minimum is bullshit and other stuff too.

Why do you make me cite shitty clickbait sites you fucking contrarian. Sony + From Soft developed a new engine for Bloodborne at the same time as DaS 2 and DaS 3 development. They downgraded it and used it for DaS2 and now supposedly will use the full next gen version for DaS3.

DeS and DaS use the Phyre engine which was again developed by Sony I think so it's similar. Don't know if From had a hand in Phyre.
