I was watching a YouTube video of a guy playing Fallout 4, and he pronounced them like 'mute' fruit, like in mutation.
I have always been pronouncing it as 'Mutt'fruit, like a mongrel dog 'mutt'.
Do the characters in-game ever pronounce the name of the fruit, was I getting it wrong since Fallout 3?

It is possible that Myron found the recipe for a pre-War drug requiring a specific "cow dung gas" extract. Turns out that brahmin leave the correct or at least a relatively compatible mixture of chemicals in their dung and so they get attributed to being the prime source of one of the drug's ingredients.
