Happened to me with FlyFF. I had so much rare shit and it was all completely gone where I checked my characters.
It happened so long ago that they couldn't restore my stuff so I just took the loss and uninstalled it. Shame too, apparently hacks were common in that game and I just got the shit end of the deal.

Not with how themeparky everything has gotten.
Everybody slogs their way to maxlevel, just to grind for identical sets of gear. Nothing unique, nothing worth showing off, no sense of achievement.
Even more now that all class variety has been neutered out of them. Most MMOs these days don't have any interesting support or healer classes and noncombat-content/mechanics.
