What does realizable characters mean?
I've heard a lot of people saying First Party only. But then Bayo won so that wasn't the case,
Then Nintendo consoles only. But we got Cloud so that wasn't the case.
Then there's tons of other factors it could mean. No Ridley because he's too big. No K Rool because he isn't relevant. No Captain Toad because we already have too many Mario characters.
At the end of the day it means whatever Sakurai wanted it to mean and the poll was farce. We got the character Sakurai wanted, although I'm not upset by that.
Cloud was already in, no more Square characters, so that removes Sora. Goku, Miku, Snake, Shrek, Banjo-Kazooie, and other third parties would have too much trouble getting into smash. Bayonetta actually doesn't seem like that unlikely as a winner. Though I wonder if Wonder Red's votes were added to Bayo's.

What makes me question Bayo is that in all the online discussions, I never saw Bayonetta supporters as having a particularly loud voice. She got mentioned here or there but not the kind of fervor I'd expect from the winning character. Though honestly, I like the characters we got. I'm just a bit disappointed in the circumstances. At least with the characters that have been discussed online, such as Shovel Knight, Shantae, Banjo, K Rool, Ridley, etc, we know there was a large push for them so it's reasonable to assume they could have been in higher demand, but Sakurai didn't want to go through the process of getting the rights to use them/to make them at all.
It could be either case though. It'll be interesting to see if Sakurai will discuss the results in an interview at some point and we can get a better idea of how it turned out. It doesn't look like we're getting raw data, unfortunately.

Chances are the majority of people who voted weren't involved in any big online push for a certain character, since vocal minorities tend to be just that: minorities. Most likely characters they could potentially get in the game without taxing the 3DS. Remember, the 3DS version of Smash 4 literally holds the Wii U version back.
