-Play SoC first, then CoP, then CS
-Play vanilla or get ZRP mod
-PLAY ON MASTER, no exceptions
-Don't use crosshair
-Learn the HUD and UI
-Use bolts
-Starting gear and guns are shit, it gets better
-Remember to save often, but don't savescum
-Take your time in fights, don't rush, plan ahead

CoP. Play CS only if you want more story after compliting those two. It's also buggy as fuck and doesn't really offer anything new because the map is almost exactly as CoP's
play on master difficulty
that makes the game easier but much more fun
it forces you to not get hit by any bullets at all, but NPC's die in 1-3 hits
basicly easier difficulties = bulletsponge enemies

STAGE 3B is objectively better
don't bother with Misery. its tedium and inconvenience disguised as realism and challenge. There are harder, better full conversion mods. I can't remember the names though.

Just play on normal difficulty with no mods on your first play through, the game will be extremely unforgiving on Master and you won't appreciate or know the differences if you play with overhaul mods for your first session.

I feel that playing on normal cheapens how much of a tank exo-skeletons make people. Surviving a half clip of assault rifle fire on master difficulty with only a minor amount of internal bleeding, after busting my ass for Freedom to get the light weight PA in CS, is video game zen for me. I'm reinstalling now.
