MGS4 was actually my second mgs game after 1 and it's still my absolute favorite. Even after playing the entire series. The boss fights were pretty good, there were some incredible stealth sections and other than shadow Moses being nothing more than a nostalgia trip most of the levels stood out on their own

Sony did something Microsoft did NOT do: developed new technology for it with blu-ray (which Microsoft now makes use of) and CELL (which may not have been best but it still was an early multi-core processor that opened the doors to such).
They didn't just take PC parts and re-package them as a console like Microsoft did. That's why it costed so much.
And now thanks to economies of scale blu-ray is affordable and the PS4 was able to cost a lot less at launch.
Of course I don't expect you to get the costs involved with producing brand new tech if you're an Xbox fanboy since every console Microsoft has ever produced has been nothing but an analgamation of PC parts.
