Everyone has had something happen in their life at some point or another that they were always upset about that never got resolved. Maybe some of us had a friend who we parted with on unfavorable terms and always regretted it, and we felt reminded of that regret when Jon and Arin stopped being friends. Seeing them having patched things up, perhaps on some level helps people cope with their own past regrets, because they can vicariously see that mistake being corrected through someone else.
