The DLC is done. Shovel Knight's popular is already depleting rapidly as everyone moves onto the next indie darling. He was always just a bit of a fad.
If he somehow manages to build a big and beloved franchise by Smash 5 that people are still crazy about then maybe, but frankly at this point I'm starting to think any western third party IP is at an immediate disadvantage, especially indies.
