You start with a gun. An M1911A1, a S&W Model 10, or a Glock 17 with a selector switch, and maybe a flashlight, spare rounds, or spare mags. You must collect 11 cassette tapes throughout the semi-procedurally generated world, while avoiding sentry guns or flying taser robots, both of which kill in one hit.
The catch? You must operate the gun 100% manually. I.E. a key for racking the slide, a key for removing the mag/dropping it on the floor, one for inserting the mag, one for the slide release, two keys at once for a brass check, etc. Loose rounds can also be manually loaded into mags.
There is also a mod that adds the Remington 870, a bolt action rifle, the USP, the Tokarev TT-33, The M1A1 Thompson,
and the Mauser C96.

F2P but not P2W. It doesn't take too long to buy the mercs you want and they're all on free rotation weekly like heros in LoL.
Netcode is great and if you stick to your local servers, you won't have problems with connection.
Anti-cheat is still buggy, so you might get kicked every now and then but it's becoming a pretty solid game.

Vivesector wasn't very inspired, and I'm not sure I'd call it good but it was pretty fun if you just want to shoot shit up with some fun gore. Also, Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2 were pretty good for gore. Turok remaster is about to be released on steam, one of my all time favorites in terms of varied enemies, level design, and fun weapons. Bosses were badass too. Turok 2 remaster is coming later, but unlike the PC version for Turok 1, 2's is pretty good.

Especially the multiplayer coop. I remember playing with people roleplaying as fuck, really believing they were cops, everyone screaming in their mics "ALL CLEAR" and "ENTRY POINT" every seconds. The AI was really good, the levels well-designed, and there were so many ways to play through each map, using snipers or different positions.

Soviets didn't use proper AT (such as recoilless rifles) in the eastern front because they were more commonly used in an offensive role rather than defending, which is usually what they did most in the Eastern Front. They deployed ANTI-TANK rifles and ANTI-TANK mines in their defense lines to fend off the germans, who had actual AT to use.
The devs didn't give the russians recoillless rifles because they never had the shit back in Stalingrad.
RO1 had AT guns because the americans and japs actually deployed them historycally.

Fucking hell no, everything is a bullet sponge on the hardest difficulty drawing out fights in some rooms to 10 fucking minutes yet is somehow still fucking piss easy because enemies don't do shit damage, the most effective weapon is the upgraded katana where you charge it up, dodge, and attack again. It's the most fucking annoying and tedious game I've played in a long time, and most fights enclose you in a small arena too. I would have enjoyed it more if it was balanced differently. I'm hoping the 2nd one is better but I'm not buying it until I can confirm it's not the same shit.
